Westgate House, London
Some places just have that quiet sense of arrival. This one bedroom penthouse at Westgate House in London really gives you that the very first moment you set foot inside. I remember standing by the entrance and just letting the calm wash over me. The space kind of invites you to slow down for a minute and look around. It is sitting up on the seventh floor so you do not get street noise at all. And really, it feels tucked away despite being so close to everything.
You get a sense that someone took real time with the interiors here. Soft neutral colours. Timber floors that just feel right under your feet. Every room branches off the hallway in its own way so you keep your privacy even though it is a one bedroom apartment. When I opened the door to the living area the first thing I noticed was the wall of windows. It pulls in a ton of natural light and at certain times of day the city just sparkles outside. There is this uninterrupted view of London that never really gets old. Sometimes I just stood by the glass and watched the city move on by. It is easy to feel above things up here.
And if you like some fresh air you will probably love that terrace. It is properly spacious not one of those little step outside balconies. I pictured a couple of armchairs maybe a small table and honestly you could just sit with a book or tea in the evenings. Or even get up early and watch the sunrise over the rooftops. From here you see so many corners of Ealing and beyond. Sometimes you catch birds darting between buildings. In good weather you forget you are in the middle of London.
The kitchen is open to the living space but it actually feels like somewhere you would really cook. There is space to move around and you would not be bumping elbows if someone is helping. Tuck into breakfast with the city as your backdrop or just heat something up before heading out. It works either way. The bedroom is quiet and comfortable enough that you will want to take a Sunday morning slow for once. Storage is sorted so life is easy to keep tidy.
You do not come across this kind of building every day. Westgate House feels more like a modern hotel than just a collection of flats but in a good way. The amenities downstairs might even make you forget your gym membership. There is a good sized fitness center and a spa with sauna and steam room. Sometimes I think a steam after a long work week just resets you. The private screening room is tucked away if you want a movie night without the crowds. Even the sky lounge up on the sixth floor feels like an extra living room but with city views you can never quite get bored of. It is quiet up there mid afternoon and quite a hidden spot for a bit of laptop work or just to unwind.
One thing you really notice living here is how convenient everything feels. You get twenty four hour concierge so parcels do not go missing and someone is always on hand if you need anything. The local café scene is honestly just a few minutes walk and you sometimes see people carrying pastries home in the mornings. There is fine dining for evenings you want to treat yourself and classic pubs around the corner for something more relaxed. Ealing is famous for its old film studios too so now and then you feel you are walking through a little bit of history. Central line trains are a short walk and when you need Heathrow or central London you can be on your way in no time. Most days you do not need the car but there is quick road access if you are heading further out.
Places like this penthouse at Westgate House do not often come up and even when they do they rarely feel this easy to settle into. I really think you get the best of London living with this one bedroom penthouse. The only way to know if it feels right is to come see it for yourself. If you have questions or want to walk through and just take your own time I am always around. At LuxuryProperty.com we honestly just want your next move to feel as comfortable as possible.
