Princess Tower, Dubai Marina
There is something about Princess Tower that gets to you pretty much right away. You come in and the place is quiet even with the city all around. You can hardly believe you are in Dubai Marina sometimes especially when you step off Marsa Road and look up at this huge building. It is one of those addresses you have to see to believe. This one bedroom apartment on a mid level floor really does it in a simple but honest way. There is just enough space to feel at home but not so much you spend your life cleaning or keeping up with things. When I visited you could hear a bit of the city outside but once the windows are closed it goes peaceful. The street view is there and you almost get these little peeks of the sea from the balcony in the bedroom. At night the city lights drift in and it actually feels calming which is something I never expected on this side of Dubai Marina.
The kitchen is tucked away but you can imagine making morning coffee and maybe toast here and actually sitting by the windows in the living room. They are pretty big and open right up so you get that breeze on a cooler evening. You will notice the air conditioning actually works well so you do not end up reaching for the remote again and again. The floors are tiled and just easy to keep nice. Honestly there is nothing too fancy just solid materials everywhere and it feels reassuring. There is a fitted wardrobe in the bedroom which is great and actually leaves enough wall space for a proper bed. The en suite bathroom has a classic bathtub so not every day has to be quick showers. Plus there is a separate guest washroom that comes in handy more often than you would think. Sometimes apartments like this only have the one.
One thing about Princess Tower is you walk through and you realize it is not just the apartment but the whole building. The lifts are quick there is always staff around and everyone is just doing their thing. Downstairs you have a coffee shop by the pool so grabbing an iced coffee before work becomes easy. The pool is really beautiful on a sunny morning and you get indoor and outdoor options depending how you feel. If you are into working out there's a gym and even a yoga room which I know a few people use in the evenings. I walked past someone in there doing stretches right as the sun was setting and you can just tell it is a good place to unwind. The billiards room gets a bit of use and the kids play areas are actually pretty lively on weekends. All these small things just remind you that life here is not only about the apartment itself but what happens once you step out the front door.
Getting around is really easy. The entrance is just off Marsa Road which means Media City is pretty much a straight drive and the Palm is only a few minutes away. Jumeirah Beach Residence is almost in walking distance depending how ambitious you feel. The Dubai Tram is nearby too so you can really leave the car most days if you want. If you need to go out for a bite to eat you just wander over to Marina Walk which feels like it has every cuisine under the sun. I have sat there more than once with friends and forgotten how late it got. Marina Mall has plenty of shops and even unexpected things like a trampoline park for when your friends visit with their kids. You find pharmacies banks and pretty much anything you could need sprinkled all over.
To be honest you cannot really sense a place from reading alone. You have to walk through and see if it clicks. If you want to get a feel for this one bedroom apartment at Princess Tower in Dubai Marina just get in touch whenever it suits you. Sometimes seeing the views from the bedroom at sunset or even feeling the breeze in the living room makes all the difference.
