Banyan Tree Residences Hillside Dubai, Jumeirah Lake Towers
Some homes just make you pause a minute when you walk in. This one bedroom apartment at Banyan Tree Residences Hillside Dubai did that to me. There is something calm about it. I remember stepping inside and feeling this sense of privacy but at the same time, you get these big skyline views that open up from the windows. You are up above Jumeirah Lake Towers so you can see the city in the early morning when it is just waking up, or later on with the lights flickering around the towers. The apartment itself is set high, feels really quiet, and honestly, it is one of those places where you might just want to sit on the balcony with a book more than anything else.
The living area is open plan and easy to spend time in. The high ceilings—over three meters—make everything seem a little lighter, a bit less crowded, and the natural light kind of moves with you through the day. I noticed when the sun comes in it reaches every corner and the space never feels gloomy or boxed in. If you love cooking, or even if you just want to try, the kitchen is one of those that actually feels usable. It has built in appliances from Siemens and the counters somehow invite you to just set your groceries down and get started. I could see myself making coffee there, then heading out to the wraparound balcony which honestly is one of the best parts here. You get this fresh air and, in the evenings, the sky starts to change colour over Emirates Hills and the golf courses just below.
The bedroom is private, designed more like a quiet retreat. Floor to ceiling windows look out over the greenery and you wake up, sometimes you catch birds moving down near the golf courses. There is a built in wardrobe space tucked away so you do not lose any of that open look. Your bathroom is en suite and the fittings are from Grohe and Villeroy and Boch so you feel that quality, but it is never flashy. It just works well and makes every day easy. Hot showers, lots of space for towels, never fussy.
What I actually like the most about Banyan Tree Residences is how everything feels cared for. The team here, run by the Director of Residences, always seem to be around when you want them and out of the way when you need privacy. There is proper concierge help, no awkwardness, just real people helping out if you need a dinner booking or even just dry cleaning picked up.
There is a spa downstairs that smells really good every time you walk past. The pool and the poolside cafe are almost an escape without leaving home, and you will see people bringing friends round for coffee or spending a lazy day reading poolside. There is a clubhouse if you want a change of scene. You hardly feel like you are in the middle of Dubai, but actually you are very close to everything. The metro is not far and for anyone working around Dubai Marina or Media City or even DIFC, the commute is just easy.
Jumeirah Lake Towers itself is one of those neighbourhoods where you start recognising faces at the coffee shop after a while. There are always families with strollers in the parks, and sometimes you will see kids on bikes in the evenings. When the weather is nice you will find people walking around the lakes with their dogs or stopping at one of the bakeries. And if you are into golf at all, those views over Emirates Hills will appeal. Even if not, just having all that green outside is a treat.
I think this one bedroom apartment at Banyan Tree Residences is the sort of place where life just feels a bit simpler. You do not have to do much. The space just settles around you and ends up fitting into whatever lifestyle you want to have.
