Ashjar, Al Barari
Some apartments make you want to slow down right away and I noticed that about this one bedroom home in Ashjar Al Barari. The first time I visited I probably spent too long just standing by the window watching the morning light move over all that greenery outside. It is funny how peaceful it feels here even though you are right in the middle of Dubai. That's Ashjar for you. Nothing about it feels rushed.
You get this calm the second you walk in. The apartment is on a lower floor but honestly the views out to the gardens could convince you that you are in your own private retreat. The way the space is planned you just float from room to room and there is so much natural light. It has this subtle kind of luxury about it. Everything is solid and well built without showing off. It is not one of those places where everything is glass and chrome and impossible to relax. The color palette is soft and the finishes are just right. You will notice big windows everywhere and if you open them up on a mild day there is this slight fresh air scent from all the trees outside.
The kitchen is genuinely a kitchen you could cook in. I mean if you are someone who just heats up leftovers it works but if you like to have a go at something a bit more ambitious the Miele appliances make it easy. There is space to move around and you can actually see all your counters as you work. I always notice how so many modern apartments are designed for looks but not for living but this is different. You might actually want to try baking after moving in.
The bedroom is a real highlight. Not just because the walk in wardrobe is so well set up that it almost feels like a little boutique but because in the mornings it just feels bright and quiet. Sometimes you forget the rest of the apartment is even there until you leave the room. Evenings feel cozy. It is the sort of space where reading a book in bed makes total sense.
For the living area I keep thinking how it would be nice to host a couple of close friends. You can open out to the spacious terrace and let everyone spill out into the fresh air. That is something you do not get in a lot of one bedroom apartments in Dubai. And honestly that terrace is probably where you will drink your coffee most mornings because it just invites you outside.
Ashjar in Al Barari is different from any other Dubai community I have been to. There is this eco feeling about it but you are not sacrificing any comfort. Over half the whole area is gardens and trees. You walk outside and hear birds more than cars. Sometimes on walks in the evening you might even see neighbours jogging or families on bikes. The Farm restaurant is just around the corner and it tends to be the kind of place you end up at for Sunday breakfast without planning it. There is also the Heart and Soul Spa and the Body Language health club for days when you need them. Plus it never really feels crowded. The whole place was designed to give people space.
It is perfect for anyone who does not want to deal with the busy city every day but still wants to be close. This part of central Dubai just feels greener and more relaxed. Yoga on the terrace actually makes sense here. Al Barari has this secret garden quality. Even driving in you sort of exhale.
If you think you need more bedrooms maybe this is not it but for a single person or a couple it just makes living feel easy. At LuxuryProperty.com we like people to actually see for themselves so if you have questions or just want to come walk around and get a feel for it I can arrange that. Best way to know is to experience it in person. Just reach out whenever you are ready or even if you are just curious. We try to make your next move feel comfortable and real.
