One at Palm Jumeirah, Palm Jumeirah
Some homes really do make you pause. I remember walking into this four bedroom apartment at One at Palm Jumeirah and just slowing down for a second. There's a calmness when you walk in that's hard to explain right away. Maybe it's the way the light hits all that open space or maybe it's just the sound of the sea if you listen by the windows. Either way you feel a bit more relaxed as soon as you step inside.
This is actually the only double height unit left here in the entire building which is kind of special if you ask me. You stand there and just look up and you realise there's a real sense of space that's almost hard to find anywhere else on the Palm. The design has a modern feel but not in a cold way. It's all by Elicyon which is a really respected British design studio and they've actually made it feel like a place you'd want to truly live in and not just look at for show.
Honestly the living room is huge. It just flows into the dining and kitchen areas so no matter what you're doing everyone still feels together. I always like it when places don't force you to go from room to room for every little thing. The kitchen's actually set up for cooking if you're into that. Some places only pretend they are but not here. You could spend an evening just making dinner and talking while everyone's in sight. That open plan vibe is real.
Bedrooms are tucked away from the main space which means you actually get real privacy. I walked into the master and it sort of feels like its own little world. The walk in wardrobe is bigger than what most people call a bedroom and the bathroom gives you a soaking tub you might use more than you think. You look out from the master and it's all sea views. It's the kind of spot you could sit in that tub and just let time pass.
Every single bedroom has an en suite bathroom which your friends will love if they visit or if you've got kids who like their independence. There's also a separate family room. I actually sat down for a bit when I visited and you could see it working as a little hideout for movie nights or just somewhere quiet to read on a Sunday.
The terraces are wide and every room leads out to them. I stepped outside just to watch some boats on the water. Sometimes you do that and forget your phone inside. Honestly it's easy to get distracted by just being outside here. If you like early mornings or late evenings with a view I think you'd really enjoy it.
And let's be honest the views of the Arabian Sea are everywhere in this apartment. You wake up and it's there. You end your day and you see it again. It just never gets old. There's something about seeing water all the time that makes coming home a little bit better.
Living at One at Palm Jumeirah is a bit different. You get all the extras you'd expect from a place run by The Dorchester Collection so life feels mostly easy. You never have to worry if the pool is clean or the gym is open or if you can get help with something. The amenities here really are something. There's the big pool with a great deck for lazy afternoons and then there's a quiet vitality pool if you want a different pace. I've seen people doing laps too if you're more energetic than I am. The gym is proper not just a couple of machines and the spa has a pretty good reputation. There's even an outdoor cinema which families like and if you've got a kayak or a yacht the private jetty takes you straight out to sea.
You're never far from anything honestly. Nakheel Mall is right there which means you've got shopping and coffee and food whenever you want. Sometimes I walk down and see kids biking on the pathways or people grabbing dessert after dinner.
There's a lot to take in but really the only way to know if it feels like your kind of place is to come and see it. If you want to talk more or just walk through the apartment at your own pace let me know any time. At LuxuryProperty.com we really just want your move to feel right.
