Some homes just have that feeling. The door swings open and you stop for a second. I did that here at Sur La Mer in Jumeirah. Maybe it's because you catch a glimpse of the water or maybe it's the sunlight playing on those Italian style walls. This five bedroom villa really stands out. People always say location is everything, but here you know it the minute you step inside. You're part of La Mer, so the beach is a stroll away. You can wander along the boardwalk or pop into any of the little cafes and you almost forget that downtown is still just a quick car ride.
The home is spread across three levels, and every floor has its own good kind of secret. Downstairs is where it feels most lively to me. There's this wide open living and dining space where you might just end up hosting family birthdays or watching late movies with the doors open to the terrace. While I was standing near the window, I realized the backyard is bigger than most. For people who love a bit of greenery, there's actual space to plant something or let kids kick a ball around. The covered terrace blurs inside and out. You just sit for a while and it's hard to tell where the day goes.
The kitchen has its own door, which is nice if you really want to cook or just close things off on busy evenings. And the en suite maid's room is tucked away right here too. Upstairs, four bedrooms circle the landing, all with their own bathrooms. One of the bedrooms even feels like it could be a second master, thanks to the extra closet space and this balcony where you can see the sea in the morning. That view—honestly, it never gets old. Some places just give you more natural light, and these rooms have that. Bedrooms in so many Dubai homes feel boxy, but these are roomy. You'll notice kids have space to spread out their homework or you can sneak off for a quiet read away from the buzz.
Go up once more and you reach the master suite. I stuck around here longer, mostly because the private terrace is ridiculous in the best way. You could have a breakfast table out there, or maybe just do yoga with the sun coming up over the water. There's a huge bathroom with a tub and shower, plus a walk-in closet. The rest of this floor gives you a family room for quieter evenings or movies, a small study area for working from home—honestly, I could see it as a spot for kids' projects or even just hanging out. There are even two more terraces up here, so wherever you are you get a slice of that waterfront breeze.
And then the finishing touch: the rooftop. It's bigger than you think and it's actually set up for gatherings. There's a barbecue spot, so you can just imagine friends piling in after a day at the beach or sundowners before heading out. It's private, as well, which is not easy to find in a city villa. Downstairs, a real bonus is garage space for three cars—not a tight squeeze, either. Makes life a little easier when family visits or if you have more than one car.
But maybe the thing I like most is how relaxed the neighbourhood feels. Evenings here are for cycling down quiet lanes, taking the shortcut to watch the boats in Port de La Mer, or drifting over to the marina for dinner. Sometimes you see kids playing and sometimes it's just the sound of the water. The famous La Mer beach is so close, and if you want, there are five star restaurants and resorts just around the corner.
Honestly, you only know if it fits when you walk through. Reach out if you want to see it or ask anything, even if you're just getting started. At LuxuryProperty.com we do our best to keep things easy and comfortable—your next move should feel just right for you and your family.
