Sur La Mer, La Mer, Jumeirah
Some places just sort of make you breathe differently as soon as you walk in. This five bedroom townhouse at Sur La Mer in Jumeirah is one of those spots, honestly. The air feels lighter. Maybe it is the sea being so close. You get this mix of city and beachfront here that you just do not find everywhere in Dubai. I came on a bright afternoon and the sun kind of bounced off the cheerful stucco facades. Bits of the Italian Riviera run through this whole neighbourhood. You notice it right away in the way the rooftops lean and the colors almost glow a little in the morning.
Inside, it feels much bigger than you might expect from the outside. The living room drew me in first. There is a double space thing happening, just lots of light and a ceiling that gives you room to stretch out. On the main level, the open plan makes it easy to imagine a few people hanging out or maybe kids running from the backyard right through the living room without bumping into anything. These are not the sort of rooms you keep shut away from life. The kitchen is closed off a bit but not in a way that feels separate. I can just see someone at the table actually sitting down for a proper breakfast instead of everyone grabbing coffee and heading out the door. There's also a maid's room with its own bath tucked back a bit for privacy.
Step out to the backyard and you get this covered terrace that calls for evening meals once the air cools. It is honestly easy to lose track of time watching the sky change over the neighborhood. And you have more than enough space for a little garden or for kids to kick a ball around.
Head upstairs and there is this feeling of quiet that comes through the hallways. Four bedrooms up here, each with its own bathroom so you are not fighting for mirror space in the morning. One of the bedrooms has a balcony that faces the sea. Standing there, you catch those salty little breezes. The secondary master even has a walk-in closet which is great for anyone who likes their wardrobe a bit spread out.
The main master suite though is a whole experience. Up on its own floor away from the rest, so you get that sense of privacy parents sometimes wish for. The bathroom is big without being showy, with a tub that feels like you could sit there for hours and a walk-in shower if you are in more of a hurry. You'll also find a walk-in dressing room which makes getting ready in the mornings feel a bit special. There is a wide balcony that somehow makes the view seem even bigger. I spent a few minutes there just looking out, honestly forgetting about my phone and the next appointment.
There is even more up top with the rooftop terrace. You are never far from the sea breeze and the sky feels wide open at night. People use these spaces for barbecue evenings or just a quiet hour reading away from the world. There is room for guests but also for private time. The family room on this floor opens onto two little terraces. One spot almost feels hidden which might be nice for teenagers or anyone needing a quiet study nook.
Parking is easy here, by the way. There is a three car garage which is a rare find. Getting in and out of the city from here is painless. La Mer beach and that long boardwalk are basically just down the road. On weekends, families like to stroll or cycle here and you will often spot kids with sandy shoes and ice creams. The marina at Port de La Mer is around the corner too with its cafes and restaurants right on the water. You never really run out of places to try or new little corners to sit with a coffee.
A home like this townhouse at Sur La Mer is not about shouting for attention. It is more about that feeling you get when you walk through spaces that just feel right. The only way to know if it fits is to come by and see it in person. If you have questions or want to see it for yourself, let me know any time. At LuxuryProperty.com we are always here to help make that next step a little easier and hopefully a bit more enjoyable too.
