Dubai Hills, Dubai Hills Estate
Some homes just make you pause for a second as soon as you walk in. This two bedroom apartment at Greenside Residence in Dubai Hills Estate gave me one of those moments. Honestly, there is something about coming up to a high floor after the elevator ride and stepping into a space where it feels open and full of light. I watched the sunlight slide across the living room floor and it actually made me want to just drop my bag, sit on the couch, and look out at that stretch of green from the windows. You get this full view of the Dubai Hills golf course. It almost feels like you somehow have a piece of it all to yourself. Not every place does that.
The space itself is a good size at just over one thousand square feet so nothing feels squeezed in. If you actually live here with someone or even if you just want an extra room as an office or for the occasional guest, it works. Both bedrooms have big windows, so in the morning it's not hard to wake up early when you see sunshine pouring in. I stood by the window in the main bedroom and you really do catch the first bits of morning as the city outside wakes up too. Storage is sorted, by the way, plenty of wardrobes and corners for your things, so you will not end up with boxes or clutter everywhere.
The kitchen does not just look good in photos. It has all the things you would want if you are someone who likes to cook a proper meal instead of always ordering in. You get up to date appliances and there is enough counter space to really spread out and chop or just stand, talk, and drink coffee. Sometimes new places can feel a bit too precious, but this one feels like you would actually use the kitchen for real life. Plus, the dining area isn't cut off from the living room, so if you have friends over or you just want space, it sort of flows all together.
The building itself, Greenside Residence, is sort of its own little world in Dubai Hills. There's an infinity pool down below that honestly looks even better at sunset. I was there pretty late in the day and you can lean on the railing and look over the pool and out to the golf course and somehow everything just slows down for a while. The rooftop lounge is another spot I would go back to, even if you just want a quiet hour in the evening to read or stare at the city lights. There's also a fitness center that looked like people actually use it, not just staged for show, as well as a kids play space tucked away from the street noise. I saw a few families on my way up and kids seem to run around pretty safely.
You can get your shopping and errands done at Dubai Hills Mall just down the road. I always notice how you are never far from a coffee shop or a quick dinner spot here. Sometimes you see people walking home after work or out for a jogโit's a lived in community. If you have a car, you get covered parking so there's no stress about summer heat. Plus, with all the security around, I felt safe just coming and going even in the evening.
What I like most is that life here genuinely feels easy. There's a quietness to the place even though you are close to the action and everything you need day to day is just downstairs or a short drive. Moving here would not feel like a big leap. You just settle in.
I always say the only way to know if a place is right is to come walk through. Photos and words never really catch how a place feels.
