Some homes make you slow down before you even reach the front door and honestly this one on Venetian Islands really does just that. Standing at 1061 North Venetian Drive you get hit with that wide open Miami sky above the water. Right away you feel the sea breeze coming off the bay and for a second you just have to stand still and look at the skyline across the water. The sunsets get plenty of hype but honestly this is one of those places where it actually lives up to it. The water changes color every hour and just when you think you have seen the best view the sky does something different five minutes later.
This is a seven bedroom villa and you will see that there is a lot of space but it does not feel empty or cold. Max Strang designed it in a way that feels both sleek and genuinely comfortable. It is all new construction and you can feel that everything is solid and well done. The windows look out almost everywhere and somehow the house always feels connected to the water. When you walk through the big open living spaces you can see boats drifting by and sometimes you can almost forget your phone somewhere because you keep stopping to watch.
The kitchen, I have to say, is actually one you would want to use. You could cook real meals here, not just heat up takeout. With that size you could have plenty of family around or a dozen friends over and no one would be getting in each other's way. Plus, if you ever felt like watching a movie together, there is a proper theatre room. Imagine having friends over for a quiet night and everyone really just feels like hanging out together without needing to go anywhere else.
The bedrooms are upstairs and each one just feels peaceful. You get morning light, and most of them open out to views of the water or skyline. There's that big roof terrace too, with those true all around Miami views. Sometimes the city feels miles away and other times the skyline reminds you that you are still right in the middle of it all. You are between Downtown Miami and Miami Beach so popping out to a coffee shop, restaurants, or even a run along the water in the morning feels really easy. The location is kind of the sweet spot where you can reach the best restaurants or shopping but still come home to that peaceful waterfront life.
Out back, you have a large pool that almost disappears into the bay and there is a covered cabana that just begs for easy evenings with music going, snacks lined up, just real Miami life. It is a good place if you have kids who like to swim or guests who just want to sit and watch the light change. The yard is oversized, about fifteen thousand square feet, so you have space for some gardening if you are into it, or maybe you just want to let the view do all the work. There is honestly enough room for everyone to do their own thing without stepping over each other.
It is unfurnished right now which I actually think is perfect because you will really get to bring in your own style. Whether you like things simple or have your eye on some bold Miami colors, the house gives you a solid backdrop for it all.
Sometimes you see neighbors biking past in the evening or folks paddling out on the water just before sunset. Even when Miami is busy it feels surprisingly quiet out here. If you are looking for that feeling of having your own private bit of the city right on the water, this spot on Venetian Islands is hard to beat.
