Some homes just have a certain sort of impact before you even set foot inside. Walking up to this palatial penthouse at Jade Residences in Miami's Design District, the quiet buzz of the city below somehow just fades for a moment. You step from the private elevator and honestly it feels like stepping into another world. That double living room really gets you when you first see it. I found myself just pausing there for a bit. There is actually space to breathe. Not many places have that.
You will notice that the entire space is just flooded with light. These floor to ceiling windows wrap almost all the way around so you can see the city in one direction and the smooth line of the ocean in the other. Sometimes when I am there I just stand by the glass and watch Miami getting on with its day while the breeze moves the curtains a little. It is the sort of thing you cannot plan with architecture but it makes the space feel real. Natural. When the sun sets the sky just glows and honestly it is hard not to put your phone away and actually just watch.
The master suite sits tucked away from the buzz of the rest of the home. This is not just a bedroom. There is a proper sitting area and you just know someone has put thought into making evenings slower here. The feeling of good wood under your feet and walls with that soft neutral colour – it feels like a long exhale after a busy day. If you need a bit more space you will find six bedrooms overall and not one of them feels squeezed or left as an afterthought. There are three family rooms so whether you have loads of friends in town or you just want to keep the peace when the kids need their own zone, it just works. There is a playroom for little bursts of energy and a well stocked library for the quiet ones too. The kitchen is big enough for proper breakfasts together and the breakfast area catches the morning light just right. It actually feels like somewhere you would want to cook, not just heat something up and go.
Step onto the wraparound balcony and you really feel you are a part of Miami. You can hear a little of the city sometimes but mostly you hear the soft sound of the water off in the distance and maybe the odd bird if it is quiet enough. Everyone talks about views and yes you get a proper full sweep of the city and ocean but it is more the way you can open a window on a breezy day and let Miami in that gets people.
Life here is not all about the inside though. Residents get their own private gym which means no waiting around to use the treadmill and a bar that actually feels inviting and not too formal. You also have a private pool up high so you are swimming above Miami with just the blue all around. It is private so you never really feel crowded. Downstairs you are in the Design District so some of the best cafes and art spots are walking distance. Even if you are just in search of the perfect cup of coffee you will not have far to go. Sometimes in the evenings you see folks heading out on bikes or just strolling before dinner.
For me one of the most important things is how easy this home feels. Even with all its space and light and amenities nothing feels showy or forced. You can see yourself actually living here not just visiting for a while. Maybe it is the way the light changes through the day or just that feeling you get when a place feels right.
The best way to know is always to come and walk through it yourself. If you want to see if it fits you or just have a question, I am around and would be glad to show you exactly how it feels in real life. At LuxuryProperty dot com, we think moving should feel as comfortable as possible. Just give me a shout when you are ready.
