Les Vagues by Elie Saab, Qetaifan
Some homes just have a calming way about them. When I first walked into this three bedroom apartment at Les Vagues by Elie Saab, over on Qetaifan Island North, it actually felt a little bit like I'd hit pause for a minute. Sunlight starts pouring in as soon as you step inside and those big windows pull your eye straight to the water. There is something about watching the Arabian Gulf with an early coffee in handโit's not something you really get bored of.
A lot of the newer branded residences around Qatar can feel a little showy, if I'm being honest, or kind of like you have to live up to them all the time but here it just feels lived-in, welcoming, even though every finish is impossibly elegant. You'll notice the marble and smooth stone as soon as your shoes click across the floor. I found myself glancing at the bronze corners and details, too. The color palette is all these gentle creams and soft greys, so nothing ever feels overpowering or makes you want to hurry out.
Stand in the living room for a bit and you realize how open it is. The kitchen really feels like somewhere you'd make something hearty after a long day, not just a showpiece for dinner partiesโeven though, honestly, it could do both. I ran my hand along the countertop and you'll definitely find yourself daydreaming up recipes here. The dining area flows right into the living space and before you know it you're at the balcony doors. You step outside and get this amazing stretch of blue in front of you. On some mornings you'll actually spot boats gliding across the water and if you're here in the evening, the whole place changes color just as the sun drops. I had to take a couple of breaths just looking at it for a while.
There really is room for everyone. Each of the three bedrooms has its own character and you can feel that gentle hush that comes when you have just the right amount of space. It is a kind of quiet that lets you sleep with the window cracked just enough to hear little sounds from outside. Sometimes you forget your phone and end up just watching the city lights blink across the bay. Storage is tidy and hidden so you never feel overstuffed or cluttered, which honestly makes getting ready in the morning so much easier.
Being part of Les Vagues by Elie Saab means there is more than just your apartment. The development is known for how it pays attention to lifestyle. There is the private beach, which is never crowded, and the winter garden where you can have a coffee or just talk with neighbors. There are a couple of clubhouses and you will see some families heading down there in the afternoons. For the boating fans, the marina is just around the corner and every so often you hear a bit of laughter as people get ready to set out for the day. Of course, boutique shopping is right nearby, plus you get all those little helpful comforts, like gyms tucked away and spaces to unwind when you need it.
Location is easy here, too. Lusail is just about ten minutes away, so if you work or study there you hardly ever get stuck in traffic. The Pearl Qatar and Doha city are about twenty five minutes if you want city evenings or the big malls. The airport is within half an hour so trips in and out do not feel like missions and you can head out for a weekend without too much worry.
There is something just a little special about waking up on an island but still having the city right there when you need it. Les Vagues by Elie Saab is a real mix of elegance and easy living. The only way to know if it would feel like home for you is to walk through it in person.
