South Ridge 5, South Ridge, Downtown Dubai
Some places just have a way of making you stop and look around. This two bedroom corner apartment at South Ridge 5 in Downtown Dubai is like that. Even before you notice the Burj Khalifa right through the windows you kind of get this feeling of being at the centre of everything but with your own private space up above the city. It is vacant right now so you could move in pretty quick and there is something about seeing it all empty and bright that lets you picture your own life here.
You walk in and the first thing that really hits you is the light. All that natural sunlight just floods in because of the way this corner unit is shaped. Sometimes you can see the sun bounce off the Burj Khalifa or catch a bit of the pool from up here which is a nice little surprise when you are making coffee in the kitchen. Speaking of the kitchen it feels like the kind of place you would actually want to cook for friends in. It has had a pretty solid upgrade so the counters look good and nothing feels cramped. You can tell when someone has paid attention to the little stuff like extra storage spaces or actually thinking about where you put your groceries and pans.
Honestly the layout just makes sense. The bedrooms are set back so if you like to keep things quiet when you relax or read at night it is easy. Both bedrooms are a good size and you do not get that boxy feeling some city apartments have. There are three bathrooms which really makes things easy if you ever have guests over or you both need to get ready in the morning. The laundry room is tucked in quietly which makes it feel more like a home than just an apartment.
The whole place is unfurnished right now but honestly that makes it easier to really see what you would do. It is clean well maintained and you can almost picture your own style coming in without trying to imagine past someone else's taste. When I stood by the living room windows the city noise just faded out. You literally see the world go by but you are a good distance above it. Kids play down by the pool in the afternoon you catch a breeze if you open the window a little and when the fountains go off at Burj Khalifa you sometimes get the smallest bit of the music drifting up.
This spot is genuinely in the thick of Downtown Dubai. You could walk to Dubai Mall without really breaking a sweat especially in the evenings when the weather cools off. People walk their dogs sometimes there is a little crowd at the cafes on the Boulevard everyone just living their own pace. And yet up here in your apartment it all feels far away. That's one of the things people really like about South Ridge. It is honestly a little calmer than some parts of Downtown and friends who visit always comment on how landscaped and tidy it feels around here. The security is on point but not in your face. The pool and gym are always just a short lift ride away and most people say they like not needing to drive to get anywhere. That is a hard thing to find in Dubai.
You will also notice details like how the lifts actually come quickly in this building and how you do not wait around for taxis if you need one. Sometimes you spot families heading out together for breakfast at the local coffee shop or folks from the gym heading home in the early evenings. Weekends are quiet or busy depending on what you want. You can just chill at home with a book or walk down and join everyone at the Mall or one of those really good restaurants downtown.
I could probably go on listing things but really the sense you get is comfortable city living. This is not staged to be fancy it just feels easy. The space works and you are close to everything that matters in Downtown Dubai. The only real way to know if it fits is to come have a look for yourself and take a walk through the place. I am always around for questions or just to let you see it at your own pace. At LuxuryProperty.com we hope your next move feels like you and we are here if you want to make this spot your own.
