Some places just feel like they were meant to be lived in the moment you walk in. That is pretty much what happened to me at this oceanfront villa at Faena House in Miami Beach. You come up to one of the higher floors and the light just pulls you further inside. The quiet here is different. The sound is mostly just the surf somewhere out there and a kind of hush that makes you feel like the city is a world away, even though it is not. This is a five bedroom villa that stretches out over almost five thousand square feet and to be honest you really do start to realize just how much space you have after a moment walking around. The rooms are all generous but never overwhelming. It actually feels like a place made for real life, not just showrooms.
The kitchen really stood out to me. It is not only beautiful but feels ready for someone who actually likes to cook which is rare sometimes in these high design homes. Molteni and C created it with Foster and Partners so even if you are just making coffee in the morning or actually hosting a dinner for friends, it just feels easy. There are Miele appliances, everything you would want, and plenty of space to move around without bumping elbows. Sometimes you look out the kitchen window and just get caught staring at the ocean for a while and breakfast takes a little longer than you planned.
Then there is the alero, or what I guess some would just call the balcony, but here it is much more than that. You step out and to be honest you just kind of pause. The view is big. Really big. Ocean in front. Sometimes you spot dolphins far out if you are lucky. Early in the morning the sun hits the water and the entire city starts to wake up behind you. It is the kind of space where you could spend hours with a book or just doing nothing at all. What I also love is that almost every room has a way out to this outdoor space so the sea air is always around you. You will also notice that if you open up a few of the balcony doors, the whole home seems to breathe a little.
Inside, the touches are all thought out. The floors use a mix of terrazzo and light oak which feels cool under bare feet and somehow looks better as the sunlight moves across it during the day. Jacques Grange was behind the interiors, and you can see his touch in little things like the bamboo wall-paneling in the lounge and the soft finish that wraps around much of the walls. So it feels modern but not cold. There is a sort of warmth and rhythm, like a good home should have.
Bedrooms are all comfortable and give everyone their own space. There is also a butlers room which you might use for staff or even as a cozy office if you do not need the extra help. Six and a half bathrooms means no waiting in the morning rush for a shower if you have family or friends staying. Honestly, it just adds to that feeling of comfort.
Living here puts you right in the heart of Miami Beach but not so close that you feel crowded. Downstairs, Faena House includes plenty of things to do even if you never want to wander far. There is a big pool, a gym with sunlight streaming in most of the day, plus you get access to the hotel next door. That means real hotel room service if you are not in the mood to cook and even the occasional musician playing outside sometimes in the evenings. And if you head out for a walk, the coffee shop is never out of reach, and sometimes you will see kids biking along the path.
This place honestly feels like it was designed with both style and day to day life in mind. The only way to really know if it fits you is to come take a look in person. If you have questions or want to see what it feels like firsthand, just let me know. At LuxuryProperty.com, it is about making sure your next move feels right, simple as that.
