Some homes just have that special something before you even step inside. Villa Aurora Fiorentina is one of those. The first time I came up the hill just outside Florence and saw the view, honestly I slowed the car and sat for a second just to take it all in. The sun hits this property from the moment it rises and stays with you all afternoon, wrapping the villa and outbuildings in that soft Tuscan light. You feel high above the city but still close enough that if you listen really closely, you can catch a hint of Florence life drifting up.

You drive in along a little lane with olive groves on both sides. Then suddenly you see the main villa, stone and golden and standing proud. There is nothing flashy here, but it all feels correct with its beamed ceilings and terracotta floors and those old fireplaces you want to sit beside on autumn evenings. The estate actually used to be a farmhouse and a barn back when this hill was part of a big agricultural estate. Today there is a main villa, an outbuilding, and another large annex tucked out of the way that you might use for storage or maybe turn into an artist's studio one day. Together they curve around a courtyard with old statues and lemon trees, the kind you see in every real Tuscan story.

Inside, the main villa spills over four levels. Walk in and you are met with a stone staircase that feels like it has been here for centuries. The living room is spacious, and the first thing you notice is how the fireplace just begs you to sit down for a chat. I can see a family gathering here on cooler nights, or maybe just you and a good book. Past that is a dining room that feels like it wants to host birthdays and slow Sunday lunches. There is a family room too that seems made for relaxing after a long day exploring Florence and a kitchen that, honestly, feels like somewhere you would do some serious real cooking. None of those overly modern, showplace kitchens here. Plus there are practical touches like a guest bathroom and a proper laundry room, which matter more than you think.

Upstairs, you get the main bedroom suite with a walk-in closet and a bathroom. The other bedrooms are generous and bright, perfect for family or guests. There is another family room here plus a study that overlooks Florence. Sometimes in the late afternoon the light floods in and you can just sit and watch the city. There is even a classic wooden study that opens right onto that grand terrace above the loggia. Out on the terrace, lunch or dinner with Florence scattered out below you is something everyone should experience at least once.

There is also an attic space with a bedroom and bathroom, and the two basement levels are perfect for storage and even the garage. The old barn is now an outbuilding at the edge of the property with views that are almost impossible to describe without seeing them yourself. There is a dining area and a living room with huge windows, so if you like a slow breakfast with a view you will probably spend a lot of time here. The three bedrooms each have their own bathroom. Everything here is bright and simple. Plus, there is another lovely terrace so you are always close to fresh air and that open view across olive trees and the city.

The property itself needs some updating and a little restoration. The structure is sound, and you can see the care that went into the details with Tuscan stonework and arches. There is something about these old pietra dura floors and wooden beams you just do not find anymore. The surrounding land is mostly olive groves with wildflowers climbing in between, and you hear birdsong most mornings. In the evenings you might see the lights of Florence start to glow, but everything stays quiet and peaceful up here.

Villa Aurora Fiorentina is not the kind of place you can sum up in one visit, but you will know right away if it feels right. If that view or the warmth of real Tuscan stone speaks to you, or if you simply want somewhere special atop Florence to make your own, come and see it. You can reach out any time.
