There is just a certain feeling that hits you in some homes and honestly I got that straight away in this penthouse at 8955 Collins Avenue in Miami. I stepped out of the elevator and before I even walked into the main living area the sound of the ocean was there. You can hear it a little with the windows open and you notice right away how the light fills every inch of the space. This is not just any penthouse either it is the entire ninth floor up here so you get these wild sweeping views that run all the way around. Ocean on one side city on the other and all that blue sky above. If you look down early in the morning you can actually catch dolphins if you are lucky or kids running on the sand when the sun comes up.
The first thing I ended up doing was just pausing there by the terrace because it wraps all the way around. I just let the breeze in for a bit and tried to imagine what you could do out here. It is big enough for dinner with friends or a quiet coffee with just you and that big view and I think if you have a dog they would just run laps around the terrace. Getting a sense of space is hard sometimes when you just see square footage on a page but here it actually feels even bigger than that. You have four bedrooms and each one sort of feels like its own spot in the home plus the walk-in closets feel more like full dressing rooms. I opened one thinking it would be a regular closet but found myself thinking wow you could get ready for a big night out in here with room to breathe.
Walking into the kitchen was another one of those moments when it just feels real. Not a showpiece where you'd never fry an egg. There's a gas range plus a walk-in pantry so you have room for real groceries and the sort of cooking you actually do because the space is just so open. I guess the wine tasting bar will be a hit if you like to entertain. Honestly sometimes you find penthouses that feel too formal but this one just feels lived in and inviting. Maybe you will throw a birthday party out on the terrace maybe you just lounge in the sun with a book. Up here you can really do both.
A practical thing I really liked is the private elevator that remembers you which is honestly just easy. You are not bumping into anyone in the hallway or waiting for your floor. And then parking means no stress either so if you love your cars or just want your own space it actually feels private and secure which matters more than you think sometimes. There are three covered spaces just for you with temperature control so you never come home to a hot car.
You will also notice the building itself feels super relaxed even though it is luxury in every way. There is a rooftop tennis court for when you want to play after the heat drops and the pools are both inside and outdoors so swim whatever the weather. Sometimes you see people heading to the spa or kids off to the playroom and it just feels easy not too busy ever. And the direct beach access well you start to wonder if you will ever wear shoes again.
It comes with immediate occupancy so no waiting around and you have this beautiful Artefacto furniture style throughout so you can move right in if you want. Crypto is accepted in case that matters to you. The coffee shop is not far and the neighborhood is honestly just Miami at its best with sandy mornings and late nights if you want them. The only way to see if it fits is to walk through and let it all sink in. If you have questions or just want a quick look reach out any time.
