There is this feeling you get when you walk into some places and for me it happened the first time I stepped inside this five bedroom beach villa in Miami at 18201 Collins Avenue. You stop for a second and the only thing you really see is that endless ocean right there beyond all that glass. It is not just in the distance either. We are talking right on the sand so you hear the waves and you honestly might leave the slider open to get a little breeze while you make coffee. Sometimes houses just feel tucked away and private even when they are in the center of things. This one is like that. You come up in your own private elevator and open the door straight into this soaring open plan with crazy high ceilings. Fourteen feet high which is not just a number you actually notice the difference when you are standing there. It makes the living room and dining areas feel so much lighter you really want to kick your shoes off and just stay a while.
Every spot in this villa has a view. Sit at the breakfast counter and you are looking at the sea. Even the kitchen feels like a real kitchen you would want to use for more than just heating up takeout. Sun pours onto the custom wood cabinets and you get top end everything. SubZero fridge and a Miele setup that works just as well for Sunday pancakes as it does big family get togethers. There is one of those entertainment bars too but not in the flashy way just somewhere friends will probably end up after dinner and before heading out to the terrace. Speaking of which you have private spaces outside that stretch along the oceanfront. I found myself walking out just to hear the water or watch those big clouds roll in from the Atlantic. No matter the weather it just feels right.
Bedrooms do not always mean privacy but here you have a real sense of your own retreat. The master suite sits in a spot where you actually wake up to a full beach view. There is a wide terrace off the master as well so if mornings are your favorite you can take coffee out there and just watch the world wake up along the shoreline. The master bath feels more like a little spa. You get a floating tub and a heavy rain style shower plus a double vanity with enough space for two people to actually get ready at the same time. Downstairs is its own little world. You have oceanfront guest suites when people come to visit and even an eat in kitchen down there so guests can start their day at their own pace. There is a cabana with another terrace space so maybe someone sneaks out early for a swim or just wants a quiet place to read beside the sea.
So if you have a lot of friends visiting or bigger family moments you are covered. And with a private two car garage plus three more parking spaces you do not really think twice about inviting everyone over for big occasions. The whole villa adds up to a little under five thousand interior square feet and then those terraces bring a bit more living outside. It feels like the kind of place that just works for real life not just as something to look at in photos. Unfurnished too so if you have your own style in mind you can make it truly yours.
Miami life is different here. The coffee shop scene is just down the street so easy mornings are a thing. Evenings on this beach sometimes you see families walking or kids riding bikes before sunset. Everything feels unlocked. The best way to know if a home fits is to walk through it in person. Honestly pictures only get you halfway.
