Sometimes you walk into a home and right away you get this sense of calm mixed with a little bit of excitement and that is what happened when I visited this stunning eight bedroom villa on Hibiscus Island in Miami. If you have spent any time near the Edgewater part of Miami you know there is just something peaceful about looking out across the bay. I just stood at the window for a while and let the view soak in. The water glows here, and at certain times of day the skyline shimmers in the background.
Now about the house itself. The first thing you notice is how everything feels intentionally designed. There is a main house positioned right on the ninety foot waterfront, which means the living areas are basically wrapped in these sweeping views of the bay. Early mornings here would be something special, honestly, and in the evening you get this quiet privacy that is hard to find so close to the heart of Miami Beach.
You also get a separate guesthouse closer to the front of the plot, which means friends and family can visit but still have a slice of their own space. They tucked the garage in there too, and I have seen these garages up close—three cars and space to move around without a squeeze. Between the main house and the guesthouse they set out a courtyard that actually feels like its own little pocket of peace. I can picture sitting there in the mornings with coffee or just listening to quiet music as the day winds down.
Spread across almost eight thousand square feet inside, the villa just breathes. Eight bedrooms, so no one is ever on top of each other. Each bedroom feels private, with its own view or tucked away corner. The master suite is the sort of room that makes you not want to leave—it looks across the water and you get this gentle light coming in. It is one of those bedrooms where you might just find yourself reading a book all afternoon with the doors open and the breeze coming in off the bay.
The gourmet kitchen is not just for show, either. I noticed right away that the space feels like a real working kitchen, with high end appliances that make you want to try something new. Even the finishes feel different here. It is subtle. There is quality everywhere you look but nothing is fussy or over the top. The bathrooms are bright and clean with that spa feeling everyone loves but still warm at the same time. High ceilings throughout the house mean nothing ever feels cramped or too busy.
Now for outdoors, which is honestly what you come to Miami for. The pool sits just right for privacy but still lets you catch the shifting light off the water. There is a cabana, which I imagine would be the favorite spot for casual meals or cooling off after a swim. A summer kitchen is right there as well—really makes those long Miami weekends more about being outside, cooking, and spending time with people. The new seawall is elevated for peace of mind, and the dock has more than enough room if you have more than one boat or just want easy access to the bay. This backyard honestly feels like your own piece of the coast where boats drift by and sometimes you see dolphins if you get lucky.
And the best thing is you are on Hibiscus Island. There is a feeling of being secluded but everything you need is never too far. Miami Beach is just over the bridge. Morning coffee or dinner with friends is easy, and sometimes you will see neighbors out for a walk or kids biking along the waterfront in the evenings.
Really, there is no substitute for walking through this villa in person. Photos and words can only do so much.
