Some places really do take your breath away even before you have put your bags down. That is honestly what happened when I walked into this penthouse villa at St Regis Bal Harbour in Miami. Sitting all the way up in the sky and wrapped in glass it almost does not feel real at first. The views hit you right away. I mean the Atlantic just stretches out forever and you can see everything from the gentle waves below to boats floating past and those gardens along the Intercoastal. It is the kind of place that even feels quiet above the world even though you are right across from the Bal Harbour Shops and all the Miami energy when you want it.

You have this unbelievable amount of space. Technically it is two penthouse mansions joined together so it feels even bigger than you expect. It is written as almost six thousand three hundred square feet and you definitely feel every inch of it. There are five bedrooms and actually two of them are master bedrooms which is pretty rare and just sort of makes sense for family visits or friends who want their own private bit of luxury. Walking through you just notice how wide and open it all is. Sometimes with big spaces things can feel a bit empty but here it comes together in a really comfortable way. You get plenty of natural light from morning through the late afternoon. I actually stood by the window for a while and watched the light changing on the water and it all felt very calm even though my phone kept buzzing.

On a clear day you can almost see forever honestly. Some evenings you will catch the sound of music floating up from the beach or just the quiet hum of the city far below.

Kitchens are kind of important to me and I have to say the one here actually feels like somewhere you would want to cook for real. There is space for your coffee machine your air fryer whatever you need. The layout makes it easy whether you are making a big dinner or just midnight snacks after watching old movies. And even though St Regis Bal Harbour is about as luxe as it gets there is this low key side to it you will find. The community is friendly. Sometimes you see families heading down to the water or people just out for an early stroll with their dogs. The gym and pool are there if you want to keep active and there is always something happening nearby but you never feel crowded.

Living here at 9701 Collins Ave really does mean being at the heart of Miami and yet having your own piece of sky. The Bal Harbour Shops are just over the way so finding a coffee or dropping in for something sweet is never a problem. Schools are close. Beaches are right downstairs. Getting to downtown or up the coast is easy but honestly some days you will not want to leave.
