Some homes just make you slow right down when you step in. This one at 911 N Foothill Road in Beverly Hills really does that. I still remember walking across the foyer and almost forgetting to keep going because the way the light comes in is just something else. It gets you straight away. There is nothing over the top about it either. Everything feels thought out and settled even though it is honestly really grand too.
The first thing you will probably notice is that whole open feeling. It is partly the way Richard Meier and his team worked with glass and stone all through each room. It is a modern house that somehow feels like it has always belonged right there. White oak details and the kind of big windows that you do not get just anywhere. You can stand by one of them and just feel the sunlight. It is soft and everything glows a little in the afternoon. The garden actually feels like part of the inside in some spots. Sometimes you will hear the birds or see the breeze move through the trees outside. I just kept finding myself looking for reasons to stay in each room a minute longer.
Each level has its own vibe but they all flow into one another in a way that feels easy. There are two staircases if you like to wander or you can take the elevator and feel just a bit spoiled going floor to floor. You get real gallery style areas but nothing cold. The main level is where everyone gathers. The great room opens out right onto the lawn with these smart steel doors that disappear before you even notice them. That space is made for slow mornings and those evenings where everyone ends up drifting between the couch and the patio.
The kitchen actually feels like somewhere you would cook for real. Not just a place to show off. There is enough space for friends to crowd in and grab coffee. I think people who love food and conversation will spend a lot of time there. The dining area looks out over the garden so even day to day meals feel special.
Upstairs you have five bedrooms so there is enough space for family and guests. Big windows mean even the rooms in the back get that bit of Beverly Hills light. You wake up and it is almost always bright. The main bedroom suite just feels calm. There are places to sit and read or just be quiet for a bit. I like how the closets and bathrooms fit right in too. Nothing sticks out or feels fussy.
The lower level is built for having fun and maybe a little self care. There is a proper gym with all the equipment you could ever need plus a private theater that feels more like a secret than a basement. It is perfect for movie nights or just hiding out on a Sunday afternoon. If you ever want to get away without leaving home you probably could right there. The best thing is no matter where you are it never feels cramped. Every part feels open and relaxed.
Step out back and there is a whole other life going on. Views over the city are real and not just a promise. Sunset is kind of a thing here and if you have people over everyone ends up outside on the entertainment deck. The pool is huge and feels like it goes on forever. Kids run around on the grass and you get those evenings where everything just slows down. The pool house and outdoor dining space make even an average Tuesday feel special. Sometimes you see neighbors walking their dogs or just taking in the view and it feels like something you want to be part of.
Living in Beverly Hills means so much is close by without you having to plan ahead. You can grab a coffee nearby or go for a walk and just enjoy the quiet. There is always something a little different around each corner here.
Honestly though you have to see it yourself to know if it feels right. Sometimes these homes surprise you. Let me know if you want to come by or just chat through questions. At LuxuryProperty.com we want your next move to feel as easy as possible.
