Some places really do feel different the minute you walk in. This three bedroom apartment at Olympic Tower on 641 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan has that easy but quietly impressive kind of energy. Maybe it is the way the sun moves through the corner windows or the kind of week old city newspaper on the kitchen counter that makes it feel like someone's real home and not just a showpiece.
You step into the foyer and all that light pulls you forward. There are sixteen windows in here sounding like a lot but honestly you only notice it because the views are sort of sweeping in from all directions. Central Park stretches out in greenery right there and the Manhattan skyline tries to compete with it. Living here comes with that everyday scene so often that after a while you might just take the park views for granted. Still, I stood by the window for a few minutes and just looked. There is just space to breathe.
The living and dining area is stretched out—over fifty feet of room if you measure it. Not that you really need to measure, it just feels open. Throw in the high ceilings and it becomes the kind of entertaining spot where you can actually host or just hang out without bumping elbows.
The kitchen is customized with all the touches you'd hope for, not just a show kitchen. I could actually imagine laying out breakfast here. To be honest, the kitchen feels more like a place to make real food than somewhere just to heat a takeaway pizza. There is a lot of storage too and the Ipe wood floors running underfoot just make everything feel a little warmer.
Bedrooms here are properly thought out, with views toward the park and those big closets that you do not see everywhere in New York. If you have ever tried to fit city life into two little dressers, you already know what I mean. The master suite is something special though. It is got its own dressing area, which might sound fancy but is actually just useful. You could turn it into a media space, office or whatever feels important. That spot gets good light for reading or working if you are a person who does not always want to sit at the dining table.
The bathrooms really do have that hotel feel, mostly because of the Imperial marble. Feels cold if you step in barefoot, but worth it for the look. Plus the washer and dryer are right here in the apartment, making everyday a bit easier. The place is ready to go with FIOS internet and digital TV, temperature controlled air systems for each room, all the bits you do not want to think about after moving in.
Olympic Tower itself is part of the city's story. Developed by Aristotle Onassis and designed by the famous Skidmore Owings and Merrill, this building is one of those addresses that people know. The staff here really does care about privacy. Concierge can get you a dinner reservation or even sort out a car, and if you need a gym, it is right on the twenty second floor with actual weights and not just a treadmill in the corner. Sometimes you see residents coming back from a run in Central Park or grabbing a coffee downstairs before heading out. Cats are fine by the way but dogs are not allowed.
So if you are looking for an apartment in Manhattan with three bedrooms, proper built ins, and those views that you just do not see every day, maybe this is one to see for yourself. The only way to know if it feels right is to step inside. If you have questions, or if you just want to walk through, reach out any time.
