Some homes just have a sense of London about them as soon as you walk in. This three bedroom penthouse at Edward House on Kensington High Street is definitely one of those rare places. The atmosphere feels calm the second you step out of the lift and even though you are surrounded by some of the grandest addresses in the city there is this surprising peace up here. I have stood for a bit by the big windows just looking over the rooftops and honestly you feel a bit separate from the rush on the street.

Let's talk first impressions. You walk through that front door and it is bigger than you expect. The floor space just gives you room to breathe. I even found myself pausing near the hallway and just kind of stretching out without really thinking about it. The hardwood flooring actually has some weight to it and the underfloor heating means you will never get that chill when you climb out of bed on a winter morning. Air conditioning is there and makes a difference during those few weeks when London gets warmer than anyone expects.

The main living and dining area is open plan but still feels cosy. It is bright most of the day because those windows really flood the place with natural light. I have caught myself just people watching from the sofa and it is easy to lose a few minutes this way. Honestly if you are looking for a spot where you can have Sunday lunches that accidentally turn into dinners or just hang out with friends without fuss this room fits the bill. The kitchen is technically closed but not in a separated way. It is only a few steps from everything but still works for real cooking not just heating something up. You will notice the marble finishes are clean but not flashy and the layout just makes sense. Nothing feels crammed in.

The bedrooms are what I would call real bedrooms. No little box rooms disguised as a bedroom here. Each one has big windows so you are never short on sunlight and you get loads of closet space. Honestly you end up needing it since London weather means a coat for every season and sometimes every week. Each bedroom comes with its own en-suite and the bathrooms are honestly proper. The tiling is cool under your feet and whether you want a quick shower before work or a long bath after a busy city day it feels good to just shut the door and unwind.

Living at Edward House means you get access to amenities that really make daily life easier. Downstairs you will find a private swimming pool and not one of those pools you only look at either. You can actually do some laps if that is your thing. The gym has all the equipment you would expect so you can skip the expensive memberships. A spa sits right there when you need a quiet hour to yourself and there is even a cinema that is used by residents which makes rainy evenings almost something to look forward to. Security is on point but the vibe is never stuffy or over the top.

You could hardly be better connected. High Street Kensington tube is so close and you can head into Knightsbridge Bond Street or Notting Hill in minutes. For travel days Heathrow and Gatwick are both easy to reach. Even St Pancras is convenient if you are thinking of hopping over to Paris for the weekend. Living here means you are close to everything central London has to offer but you can slip into peace just as quickly.

Kensington High Street really has its own rhythm. You have luxury shops and good old local grocers. Sometimes you see families or kids biking in the lanes as evening sets in and Holland Park is an easy walk when you need trees and fresh air. I find that just knowing your favorite coffee shop is a minute from the front door makes everything about daily life that bit easier.

This penthouse at Edward House is one of those places that needs to be seen to really feel right. If you want to come see it for yourself or just want to chat about whether it might suit you I am here. At LuxuryProperty.com we always try to help you find a home that matches the way you really live. You will know when it feels right. Come see if this is the one.
