Some homes are all about big entrances or showing off but this one bedroom apartment at Westgate House feels different from the first moment you walk in. Everything here just kind of settles in around you. The light bounces off good wood floors that look even better up close. I accidentally stood by the living room window a little longer than I meant to just looking out at the city. You actually feel like you're up in the world here. You can see why people who move to Ealing end up staying. It has that proper London energy but still manages quiet mornings and easy coffee runs too.
The apartment itself has that polished London look but nothing feels too stiff. You'll notice the stone counters in the kitchen are more than just for show. I pictured someone genuinely making breakfast or opening up a cookbook here. Everything is integrated and feels smart without being flashy. The kitchen just sort of works with the rest of the space. That smooth grey splashback kind of ties everything together. And when you move into the bedroom you get a real sense that someone wanted it to be restful. The neutral colours do half the work for you. It is genuinely bright in here even on an average London day but also somehow feels private. Floor to ceiling windows bring in that big city sky while still keeping you tucked away from the noise. Everyone says you can tell a good apartment by where you want to sit down first. Here, you kind of want to try them all.
Westgate House has been set up so you can have whatever kind of day suits you. If you wake up early for a run or just like to get moving the gym downstairs is honestly one of the best setups in the area. I saw a couple of people finishing up in the spa as I was walking by. You can hear the sauna quietly humming and you can almost imagine finishing a long day there. If you feel like watching something other than Netflix on your phone it is kind of cool that there is a private screening room just for residents. Feels like your own little cinema. There are people from all over here and you can see how everyone fits into the building without getting in each other's way. The sky lounge terrace on the sixth floor is where everyone heads when the weather holds. That view can stop a conversation for a second.
Honestly one of the best things about this spot in London is just being in Ealing itself. It feels like its own little city with all the places you'd expect nearby. I spotted some kids on bikes heading past as I left and you get the sense that family life and nightlife all blend together. There are good restaurants around and after a few days you would probably have a favourite coffee place. Sometimes you even forget you're so close to some of the biggest film studios in town. Everything is close but not crowded. The streets feel safe and friendly enough that you wouldn't think twice about heading out for an evening walk or grabbing breakfast somewhere new. Transport links are close too, so hopping into central London is just a quick ride if that is your thing.
Out of all the one bedroom apartments for sale in London right now this one at Westgate House just feels easy to move into and live with. You get the quiet when you want it plus all the city life you need. There is a lot to be said for that. The only real way to know is to come and see it for yourself though.
