There is something about stepping through the doors at Aykon Nine Elms that makes you slow down a little. Maybe it is the soft way the light bounces off the glass when you first come in, or maybe it is just the feeling that this is not the average London apartment. I remember standing in the living room for a minute and thinking, this is really where you want to spend your evenings. There is an ease here.
Honestly, you can tell straightaway that Versace had a hand in the design, but it does not hit you over the head. It is almost subtle. The wood floors in the bedroom are the kind you want your bare feet to touch first thing in the morning. There are these sleek wood accents all throughout, and every bit of tilework and stone has this solid, luxurious feel, but not in a way that feels too much. The kitchen actually feels like somewhere you would cook something proper, not just heat up a quick snack. I peeked at the appliances and whoever moves in will not have to do any upgrades for a long time. Feels like the kind of set up that encourages you to try something new once in a while, just because everything works well and looks good doing it.
The way the living and dining spaces blend together makes it one of those places where you will want to have a friend or two over for a long dinner that sort of lingers into the night. You are not boxed in by corners or tight layouts which you find a lot in London. There is space to actually breathe and spread out. And the windows. Sometimes you catch these pretty amazing views over the Thames and the city. In the evenings, you kind of get this golden glow over the rooftops. You can almost see the heart of London beating while you take in a cup of coffee or just watch the world outside.
One of the nice things about Aykon Nine Elms is you get this feeling of a private retreat with all the London excitement just nearby. The glass fronted tower cuts a cool silhouette up here in Nine Elms. Sometimes you walk down to the neighbourhood and you see locals out running with their dogs, and in the mornings, there is always someone grabbing a coffee just around the corner. You are south of the river so it is a bit calmer than some parts of the city but you are still minutes from all the action. If you work in the city or just love bouncing around London, the location really does make things easy.
As for the amenities, you will notice straightaway that it is a bit like a five star hotel but more personal. The gym is not one of those boxy rooms in the basement. It looks out across the neighbourhood and you might actually want to spend time in there. The pool is indoors, so rain or shine, you are set, and there are these beautiful mosaic walls that give it a bit of style. I heard that the cinema room is perfect for movie nights or maybe just cheering for your favourite team on a lazy afternoon. Kids have their own space to play and you can go up to the rooftop any time and check out views across all of London. There is a lounge for residents too. The kind of place you end up reading or just chatting with a neighbour for a while.
Services are honestly about as easy as you would hope. If you want a bit of help with something, the concierge desks are never empty. Housekeeping can be arranged, and you can even have a proper meal brought right up when you do not feel like going out. Parking is never a long hunt which, in London, is no small thing.
Sometimes, you can look at pictures or read a brochure and it all sounds pretty much the same. This apartment has that quiet sort of elegance that makes London living feel both vibrant and restful. Maybe you want your own place in the city or just a pied a terre for those weekends, or maybe you are even thinking about investing. The nicest way, really, is just to come see it for yourself.
