Some homes just make you slow down for a second when you step in. That was my first thought walking into this three bedroom apartment at Neroli House in the heart of Aldgate. Maybe it was the wood floors under my feet or the way the daylight bounces off the soft tile in the kitchen area. It feels calm in here. You can tell right away this is not one of those London flats where the kitchen is almost just an afterthought tucked into a corner. Here the kitchen stretches out, open to the living and dining space, so real cooking or even just lazy weekend breakfasts feel easy. All the appliances are built in and everything feels new but not flashy if that makes sense. The kind of space where you would actually want to try out one of those Ottolenghi recipes you keep saving on your phone.
The bedrooms are proper retreats. Carpeting underfoot is one of those small details that just feels right after a long day but still looks sharp. Built in wardrobes keep things tidy and two out of the three bathrooms are en suite which is great for mornings when everyone is trying to get ready at once. Bathrooms feel bright and clean and honestly you can tell someone really cared when planning out the fixtures. There is a nice flow, too. Even walking down the hallway feels comfortable with just the right amount of open space. If you like catching a bit of fresh air with your morning coffee, stairs at the end of the corridor take you right up to your own private roof terrace. I stood up there for a bit and could smell some rain in the air. The city stretches out in front of you. You can see students hurrying to classes sometimes and there is that buzz you only really get in this part of London.
Life at Goodman's Fields is honestly about a lot more than just your own apartment. There is plenty to do on site so you never really have to go far for anything. If you ever want to just relax and not leave the building you have choices like the Goodman's Fields Spa with its Jacuzzi or sauna. The pool here is surprisingly long which means you can actually swim laps and not just splash around. Some days you might just find yourself stretched out on the deck looking up at the sky after a swim. If you are into keeping fit there is a gym right downstairs with equipment that covers pretty much everything. It is never too crowded and the machines feel new. In the evenings or on rainy weekends it is fun to have the private screening room for movies. Plus anytime you need a hand with anything the concierge is around day or night and always friendly.
This is a part of London that's really hard to beat for convenience. Commuting is easy whether you are heading to top universities or big offices in the city. There are always options for food or coffee with plenty of cafes and small shops just out your door. One of my favourite little things is watching people walk through the plaza in the mornings. Sometimes kids will run around the horse sculptures and there are always flowers around the water features. You get the energy of the city but never feel too busy or boxed in.
Living in a place like this could suit so many phases of life. Easy to picture a family loving it here just as much as someone who is in town a lot for business and wants a peaceful place to call their own.
You really have to walk through it to know if it feels right. If you want to see the apartment or just have a chat about what life in Aldgate is really like, reach out any time. At LuxuryProperty com we want to make your decision feel as natural as finding your favourite spot by the window.
