Sometimes you just walk into a place and it makes you smile a little without even meaning to. That was my first impression stepping through the doors at Green Square in Dubai Hills Estate. Even though this is a studio apartment, it feels airy and open the minute you step inside. The full height windows really pull in the green outside. I stood there for a moment actually watching the sunlight slide across the floor and you get this bright feeling that just makes mornings feel good.
This particular studio is set within a low rise building so you get more of those park views and not the endless concrete you sometimes get in the city. The space blends living and sleeping area but never feels cramped. There's a modern kitchen space that actually looks like you'd want to cook in it not just drop off takeaway boxes. I love that. Next to it you have plenty of room for a sofa and a bit of space if you happen to work from home or need to pull out your laptop for a bit. It all feels simple and easy. No need to figure things out before settling in. And in the evenings with the windows open a little you might hear the sound of people walking their dogs down by the park and you get a bit of that community feel even from up here.
Honestly the first thing you might notice is that Green Square is not all glass and steel and towering heights. It's more grounded more relaxed. There is this pleasant courtyard inside which is a great spot to wander with your coffee or just sit for a few minutes even if you never meet your neighbors. The pool deck on the ground floor is my favorite though. It is never overly busy when I am there and there's always a couple of people quietly swimming laps or just lounging by the water with a book or just lost in their thoughts. If you prefer keeping fit you will also find a gym on site so you do not have to even leave the building. And the Zen garden well it really lives up to its name. Sometimes you almost forget your phone there. It is that kind of calm spot.
Dubai Hills Estate itself is a bit of a gem for people who love walking trails open parks and little cafes scattered around. Sometimes you see kids riding their bikes in the wide open green spaces. Families spread out picnic rugs on weekends and in the evenings folks take in that last bit of sun. And you probably already know but the Dubai Hills Mall is just around the corner. So grabbing dinner or popping out for errands basically never needs a car. If you do need to go further you are only a short drive from Downtown Dubai or Dubai Marina and having two big airports within easy reach makes travel days a lot easier. That's something you do not appreciate until you have it.
For golfers there is that massive eighteen hole championship course nearby. Even if you are not a regular player just having it there changes the view and gives the whole area a relaxed almost resort vibe. Not everyone mentions it but having top notch schools and two really good hospitals close by including King's College Hospital brings a certain peace of mind too.
It is not just about the features with this place though. Honestly sometimes places just feel easy. Green Square feels like that. Everything is close by but you are not crowded and there is enough green for everyone to enjoy. If you like a bit of both city life and being able to disappear into the park for a bit it sort of just makes sense.
