This three bedroom apartment over at Rixos, Dubai Islands really feels like that. I stepped inside and honestly I forgot I was looking at a property for work. The big rooms and that sense of calm hit you right away, not in a fancy way, more like somewhere you could actually feel at home day after day.

You'll notice that there is loads of sunlight here. It just pours into the living room and honestly, that is probably my favorite part. The space is open but not cold. The kind of spot where you could actually see yourself putting your feet up at night with a book or having your friends over without it feeling cramped. When you step onto your balcony you get that mix of sea air and city energy in the distance, kind of the best of both worlds. Sometimes you can hear the water in the evening if you actually stop and listen, which feels rare in Dubai. There's always something just a few steps away, whether it's grabbing a quick coffee downstairs or if you want a stretch by the beach it just takes a wander. I saw a few people out for a morning jog and one family with kids on bikes heading down a path and I probably spent a couple minutes just looking at the view myself.

The apartment gives you about 4381 square feet to play with. That's really noticeable when you are in the main living area. You get space to breathe. Nobody wants to feel boxed in and you won't here. The building itself sits right in the Rixos community so there is security and all that, but it does not really feel like a hotel. It feels more relaxed. Sometimes the lobby smells like fresh flowers which I have to admit makes a difference coming in after a day out. You're kind of close to everything, but it never feels too busy. You see regular faces, a few neighbours passing on your way to the lift and a real mix of people. I always tell clients, if you like a bit of peace but do not want to be too far from the city center, Dubai Islands is a good fit.

Of course, Dubai Islands is one of those areas that quietly gets better the more time you spend in it. There's always something opening or another place to discover. Your weekends could mean tried and tested brunch spots one day and paddle boarding another. Sometimes you end up at home all day just because you actually want to be there.
