?The Height of Exclusivity: Emirates Hills

15 April 2018 Written by Staff Writer

Dubai is a city that tends to evoke awe and envy on the global property stage, often in equal measure. It is perhaps best known for its superlatives: Tallest Building in the World, Largest Indoor Ski Slope, Largest Racecourse, and so on. However, the attractions in the city aren’t just limited to tourist spots and impressive landmarks.
Known as the ‘Beverly Hills of Dubai, and drawing its original inspiration from the famous California neighborhood, Emirates Hills is a gated community with homes fit for kings. And who knows, a few of them may well have homes there.

After all, the regular denizens of the community include some of the city's top business magnates, as well as international celebrities from the world of film, sport and politics. Who's to say there isn't a monarch or two spending their summers in a villa on a charming cul-de-sac?

One of the major distinctions of Emirates Hills is the fact that it was the first freehold residential community in Dubai. Prior to that, buying property as a permanent asset was limited to UAE nationals and citizens of other GCC nations.

Emirates Hills broke new ground (literally and figuratively) by making premium family villas available to everyone for purchase, giving Dubai's significant expat population a place they could truly call home. With a location that is secluded from the nerve centres of the city but still within driving distance, it proved to be the ideal neighborhood for many expat business moguls and out-of-towners.
The villas in Emirates Hills range from a stately four to an expansive ten bedrooms, spread over immense plot sizes of five-figure square footage. Each majestic home is surrounded by a large garden and lawn, often accompanied by a backyard infinity pool and a basement lounge or games room.

The balconies of the villas are essentially outdoor living rooms, offering more than enough space to set up a small dining table and enjoy a nice meal while looking out over the most spectacular views.

Adding to its acclaim, Emirates Hills made the news late last year for the costliest villa sold in the city, priced at a whopping AED 95 million, and also took second place with a relatively more modest AED 60 million villa.

But we haven't even gotten to the golf courses yet.

Another key facet of the area, and one that makes it one of the city's top leisure destinations, is the presence of two 18-hole championship courses designed by golfing greats. The Address Montgomerie, featuring a course designed by Colin Montgomerie and legendary golf architect Desmond Muirhead, winds its way through Emirates Hills, offering many of the homes a broad vista of its fairways.

The course is managed by the highly renowned Troon Golf, and is the site of the 21-room Address Montgomerie hotel, adding a whole suite of luxury hospitality services to complement the sport. An on-site golf academy lets players of all skill levels perfect their skills, and includes a special camp for kids, one-on-one coaching sessions and a corporate golf experience.

Situated right next door is the Emirates Golf Club, which is home to the world-famous Majlis Course, Faldo Course (designed by Nick Faldo) and Par 3 Course. The Majlis Course hosts the Omega Dubai Desert Classic and Omega Ladies Classic, and is ranked among the top 100 courses in the world. It also offers a full range or premium facilities and services, as well as some excellent dining options.
As a premium gated community, Emirates Hills offers complete security to those that live there, and is a private haven for anyone who wants to escape the buzz of the city. That being said, it is just a short drive from the main commercial districts and three exceptional shopping malls.
