Some homes feel like a deep breath when you walk in. Casa Serena in La Zagaleta really does that and I have to say the name fits it perfectly. There is this sense of calm the moment you step inside this five bedroom villa and see straight out over the valley. First time I went there, I just stood in the hallway for a minute listening to the quiet. It almost does not seem real that you are so close to Marbella and that the Costa del Sol is just down the road. Sometimes you even forget your phone because you just want to look outside. You get these wide views of soft green hills and the kind of sky that changes all the time.
This villa has plenty of space, so even if you have a full house it never gets crowded. The living room is big and open and the windows are tall. Every bedroom has its own bathroom, which honestly just makes life easier, especially if you have family visiting or friends in from out of town. Some mornings you can hear the birds in the garden and you might even spot a deer if you are lucky. There are indoor and outdoor pools. I know that sounds fancy but it is actually nice just to have the option. Sometimes it is too hot in the middle of the day to swim outside so going for a quick swim inside feels a bit like having your own little spa. One of my clients liked the wellness centre so much that she left her gym membership behind. It makes those early mornings easier when you can just roll downstairs for a stretch or swim.
The kitchen is really designed for people who actually like to cook. Big countertops that actually leave you space to spread out and chop or bake. The formal dining room flows right into the living room, so even if you are cooking you can still chat with everyone. And outside, the gardens have these quiet corners where you can grab a book or sip a coffee. I love that someone paid attention to that when they designed the place. You do not always find that kind of detail.
One thing nobody can ignore is the views. Mountain views are honestly something special here. You wake up and see rolling hills and sometimes the early morning mist just drifting along. In the evening the sunset spills across the garden and you get colours you never knew existed. Even people who visit say something about it almost right away.
Living in La Zagaleta is not really like anywhere else. You get twenty four hour security and there is this feeling of safety wherever you walk in the community. Some days you see kids biking along the trails and everyone waves or nods because it is that kind of place. There are two private clubhouses where people meet for lunch or a drink, and if you are into golf you have two championship golf courses to choose from. The equestrian facilities are a big deal for some people, and honestly even if you just like horses it is lovely to walk past the paddocks. Nature is everywhere. Residents spot pheasants or deer on the way back from the club and it just becomes part of daily life.
It is also easy to leave the peacefulness behind when you want. Marbella and Puerto Banus are a quick drive when you want restaurants or the marina or you want to pop into town for shopping. And Malaga Airport is not far at all, so that is one less thing to worry about if you travel. Still most days, you might just want to stay put. There is a comfortable rhythm to life at Casa Serena. Plus the air actually smells fresh. That always surprises people.
If you have questions or want to walk around for yourself, you are welcome any time. The only way to really know if Casa Serena is right for you is to come and feel it. At LuxuryProperty.com, we just want to make sure your move feels right every step of the way.
