Some homes you walk into and it just feels calm straight away. That is how it went for me in this two bedroom apartment on the ground floor of Ashjar, Al Barari. It is one of those places where you slow down without meaning to. You step through the door and there is so much space in front of you that you catch yourself taking a breath and letting your shoulders drop. The living area opens right out onto this wide L shaped terrace, bigger than you think at first, and it runs the whole length of the lounge. I stood there for a bit just looking over the gardens. Early mornings the sun comes in soft through the trees and there is barely any noise except a bit of birdsong somewhere nearby. Honestly it is the kind of outdoor space where you might actually have your breakfast outside or just read quietly and forget what you were going to do on your phone.
Inside the apartment everything feels bright and open. The layout really makes a difference because you get these big corners of daylight from the floor to ceiling windows. Both bedrooms have their own bathroom and both feel like proper bedrooms, with big walk in closets that do not force you to choose between summer or winter clothes. It surprised me a bit because most apartments in Dubai just do not give you this much room for storage. Both rooms feel private too, not tucked right onto each other, so it just feels easy if you are sharing with someone or have a friend come to stay.
The kitchen is open plan and honestly it feels like a real kitchen, not just for show. Miele appliances everywhere so you have a proper fridge built in, oven and stovetop you would actually want to use whether you cook for yourself or just heat up leftovers. There is a freezer and dishwasher too and everything fits in neatly. If you like to have friends over or just want to keep an eye on what is going on in the living room while you make dinner, it just works. There is even a good sized laundry area that is hidden away, so you do not have to see the basket of washing every day.
I noticed the building itself is peaceful. People come and go quietly. The community at Ashjar in Al Barari has a really relaxed feeling to it. Walking around you cross tree lined paths and those little water features that bubble softly away in the background. I saw a family heading off to the Al Barari Playground, and later grabbed coffee at The Nette, which is just around the corner. It is rare to find somewhere in Dubai where you can just walk out your front door and feel like you are part of the neighbourhood without it ever getting crowded or busy.
Residents here can use the infinity pool that overlooks more of those gardens, plus there is a gym, wellness centre, and a play area. I noticed it never feels flashy or over the top. Everything has a kind of understated style that matches the rest of Al Barari. If you want more privacy, nobody really looks onto your terrace, and the apartment comes with two underground parking spots which makes life easy if you have visitors or more than one car.
The location itself puts you close enough to Dubai's main areas but you almost forget the city is out there when you walk around. Sometimes you see kids biking in the evenings after the heat drops or people just sitting by the water for a while. It is a good place to just come home to and slow down for a bit.
You really have to be here for a few minutes to see if it is your kind of place. I am always happy to show you around if you want to get a feel for the space or just ask a few questions. At LuxuryProperty.com, it is all about helping you find a spot where life feels comfortable and easy. So let us know if you want to come by and take a look.
