Some homes just have a certain feel as soon as you step inside. I have to say, this four bedroom villa at Water Villas on Zaya Nurai Island left me just wanting to sit down and listen to the ocean for a while. There is just something about being right at the edge of one of Abu Dhabi's most private islands, so close that it feels like you are floating above the water. As soon as you arrive at the property, it's the sea that greets you first, honestly, and that never wears off.
The thing I noticed first when I walked in was the way all the sunlight pours in from those floor to ceiling windows. These are not just normal windows either, you really have the kind of view that makes you stop what you are doing for a moment and just look out. Mornings here feel different, with the water pretty much right beneath you, sometimes the light almost fills up the whole living room. The open plan living and dining areas feel so welcoming. Whether you want to have friends over or just spread out and spend a lazy afternoon, the space just invites you to take it easy. You can hear the gentle sound of the Gulf sometimes, and it is not just something you see in photos, it is actually something you feel when you are here.
The kitchen is definitely not just for show, either. I have seen plenty of homes where the kitchen looks fancy but you know nobody ever chops an onion there. This kitchen is different. It has those professional grade appliances everyone talks about, but the layout is actually practical. I got the feeling it would handle a big dinner just as easily as a Sunday morning pancake breakfast. You can cook for real in here, and with a view like this you just might want to linger by the window while something bakes.
Every bedroom is en suite, which just feels right at this level, but what stands out are those picture windows again. You lay in bed and it is the blue water that you wake up to, again and again. The master bedroom's bathroom has a rain shower and a real sense of privacy. It is the kind of place where you can actually take your time at the start or end of the day, you almost forget your phone. You will also notice that all the bedrooms have little details that make them easy to settle into. Built in storage, good light, and those calming views.
What makes this Water Villa special though is really the way you can live outdoors as much as inside. The private patio gives you a place to have coffee in the morning or maybe read in the sun if you get the time. The large sun deck looks right onto the sea and, honestly, there is not much out there except the horizon and sometimes birds flying by. Up on the rooftop terrace, you get a whole new angle on the island, and evening up there can be extra peaceful. The infinity pool by the terrace is a real treat, especially once summer rolls around. Something about floating in the pool with the sea so close just makes you want to stay a little longer.
Zaya Nurai Island itself is one of the most exclusive communities in Abu Dhabi. It is quiet, but never boring. Sometimes you see families biking, sometimes you notice people just wandering along the beach. The lifestyle here always feels like a getaway, even on weekdays. You are still just a short boat ride from the city or Saadiyat Island, so if you ever crave a bit of buzz or a day at the Louvre Abu Dhabi, it's all within easy reach.
To really get what it means to live in a place like this villa, you have to see it. Sometimes the only way to know if something really feels like home is to walk through for yourself, take in the views, maybe imagine your coffee out on the patio.
