Gorgeous 3 Bedroom Hattan Villa In Amelkis Resort Marrakech, Morocco

Some homes in Marrakech have that special way of greeting you right at the front door. This three bedroom villa in Amelkis Resort is honestly one of those. When I visited it for the first time I just stood for a minute in the entryway, looking over the classic tiles beneath my feet and the soft light falling through wide archways. It is easy to forget for a second that you are just minutes from the bustling heart of the city, because here it feels so much slower. Quieter. Almost like the resort is its own little peaceful world, tucked behind palms and eucalyptus trees.

The villa sits right along one of the best golf courses in Morocco and you can actually catch a glimpse of golfers in the early evening, especially if you wander to the edge of the garden with your coffee or maybe even something cold. Everything here feels very Moroccan especially the way the villa uses warm brick and carved wood. The inside really has a Berber touch but without being too old fashioned. There is this big hallway as you step in and it sort of draws you forward toward the living space and you notice how open it all feels. I found myself smiling at how the air just moves through the doors and around the central covered patio. It makes the place feel fresh even on warmer days which is something you really start to appreciate after a while in Marrakech.

The living room surprised me by how spacious it is. It actually covers nearly half the ground level so if you love having people over or if your family just likes to stretch out nobody is going to feel cramped. It is the kind of space where you almost want to just sit on the edge of the couch with music playing in the background and let the afternoon go by. The dining room is right there as well and you keep getting these glimpses of the terrace outside. The terrace itself wraps around the living room and I imagine that is where most evenings end up especially in the cooler months. I noticed a few birds chattering in the garden and you can even smell the grass just after they water it. Feels a bit like countryside sometimes.

The kitchen is actually quite practical. You could totally see someone actually cooking full meals in there not just warming up takeaway which I know happens in some holiday homes. There is also an office space tucked in which I thought could work just as well as a reading room if you wanted somewhere peaceful in the mornings. There is a guest bedroom on the ground floor as well and it is tucked away so people get some privacy if you have friends staying over.

Upstairs you have two more bedrooms waiting including the master. This part of the villa is really lovely because the master opens straight out to its own private terrace and there is this big patio space above as well. At sunset the whole area turns this soft orange color and I imagine sitting out there with a good book or maybe just listening to the sound of the city far in the distance. The bedrooms feel homely with a nice mix of traditional colors and modern comfort. So many times in resorts you get rooms that feel cold but that is not the case here at all.

Living at Amelkis Resort you really start to enjoy resort life. The clubhouse has a great pool. Honestly it is nice to have a proper swim after a round of golf. There is a restaurant where you will probably find your favorite dish after a few visits. The golf course itself is pretty famous among locals and people actually travel here just to play. If you have kids school runs are short and there are plenty of shops not far either plus the airport is a quick drive if you have people visiting.

Sometimes you notice families out for a stroll in the evenings or just someone walking their dog round the course. It feels like a proper community growing here in this bit of Marrakech.
