Some homes make you slow your step the moment you cross the threshold. That happened for me at this waterfront estate on South Island in Golden Beach Florida. You notice the breeze almost right away especially if you leave the big glass doors open out back. It is a kind of fresh that only water brings. Sometimes you even catch a bit of boat chatter floating over the canal but mostly what you hear is quiet. There is almost two hundred feet of prime water frontage out here which really means you do not see many neighbours unless you are looking for them. You see more pelicans than people most days.
Honestly calling this place a six bedroom villa barely scratches the surface. All the rooms feel large. The ceilings stretch up in places where you stop and just look up for a second. You realize there is a real thought in the way this house is laid out. It is easy to move around. The windows just draw your eyes outside over the infinity pool and down to the canal where boats come and go. If you are someone who loves being near the water even just watching it this place makes it really simple to slip right into that pace.
Now the pool is something else. It runs along the back in this long sweep with an edge that seems to melt right into the canal. There is a spa tucked next to it. I stood out there one evening and you could hear the water trickle it was actually almost meditative. The air smells a bit sweet with all the landscaping. You get palms for shade and some real breathing space for kids or pets to just wander. The whole back garden is private in a way you do not always find in Golden Beach. I even saw a couple of herons down by the water in the late afternoon which probably explains the lack of fish sometimes.
Inside the kitchen does not feel just for show. It has the kind of layout where you would actually want to cook. Big workspace centrally placed so conversations can happen while someone is prepping dinner. The dining area catches a lot of natural light so breakfast feels laidback even on weekdays. I could picture mornings with coffee and maybe the laptop open at the kitchen bar or one of those longer Sunday brunches if you have friends over.
The gym is tucked right off what could be a quiet office space. It is a proper gym too not just a treadmill and a mirror. Plus three saunas and a cold plunge. After a workout you are never more than a few steps from a spot to relax. The home has a cinema room that is actually dark enough to make movie night feel like the real thing. Downstairs there is a wine cellar that you will probably want to show off when people come over just because it feels a bit special down there.
You do get a sense of having your own resort more than just a home here. The plot is big enough that you never really feel hemmed in. Everything from the pool to the garden is made for enjoying Florida weather. Late afternoons you sometimes see kids biking not far away and Golden Beach has that quiet residential energy but the restaurants and coffee spots never feel far either.
Unfurnished gives you the freedom to make it exactly yours which feels like a rare chance honestly. You can picture what colors you would bring or how you'd shape the living spaces.
The only real way to know if this feels like your space is to come and see it yourself. If you are curious or just want to wander the space and see those water views give me a call or a message any time. At LuxuryProperty.com we just try to make your move feel as natural as possible. You will know if it is home the moment you walk in.
