Some homes really do make you slow down a bit as soon as you step in. This four bedroom penthouse at Dorchester Collection in Business Bay is like that honestly you just get a sort of hush when you walk through the door even with the city all around you. I remember standing by one of the windows and just sort of people watching over the canal for a bit—it did not feel like the Dubai most people know.
The penthouse itself is a proper house in the sky set over three floors and it is really spread out. You have just over eleven thousand square feet and none of it feels wasted. The downstairs feels just made for having people over even if you are not much of an entertainer you kind of imagine doing it here. There are two living rooms with big soft sofas so people can drift off into little groups a dining room that actually looks like you would want to host a real dinner party not just order in and a show kitchen that is honestly the heart of it all. Someone put a lot of thought into this kitchen Gaggenau and Sub Zero appliances and an island where you can imagine morning coffee or late night chats. Plus you have got the practical bit too a second kitchen and even a maid's room tucked out of the way so life kind of runs smoothly.
What I like here is the outside space there is this huge terrace wrapping all the way around and a private pool hidden up there which you do not always get in even the top Dubai penthouses. Sometimes you almost forget the city and just hear a bit of breeze up that high. I can imagine a lazy afternoon here maybe even an evening get together with the skyline lighting up around you.
Head up one floor and you will find three big bedrooms. Each has its own bathroom which means no one fighting for space in the mornings and they all spill out onto balconies you might actually use. Two of the bedrooms get proper walk in closets which are a rare treat and the main suite on this level is basically its own little retreat. It has a dressing area and a big bathroom with a tub that just makes you want to linger a bit longer than usual. Sometimes places look nice in photos but here you can really see yourself living day to day.
Now the very top floor is something special. It is completely set aside just for the main master suite so you get your own private study a sitting area for those slow mornings big balcony just to yourself and another walk in dressing room that looks like someone planned it for actual life not just for show. The master bath even has a Jacuzzi so you have that hotel at home feeling without leaving your bedroom. Everywhere you look there is oak flooring and marble in all the right places. You also notice how everything is designed to flow but never show off which is probably down to the Parisian designers Gilles and Boissier—these guys know how to make somewhere feel both fancy and easy at the same time.
The high tech bits do not get in the way. There is smart home automation so you can turn lights on with a tap or set the mood for a dinner without moving from the sofa. Actually you almost forget it is there because it just works.
Being part of the Dorchester Collection you get all the extras too. There is a gym with proper equipment not just a treadmill in a spare room a yoga studio manicured gardens and a rooftop infinity pool that actually looks over all of Downtown Dubai. If you like to hold events there is a private function room and the concierge and valet people genuinely seem to care about making things easy not just ticking boxes. The whole Business Bay area is right there at your feet so morning coffee runs or evening walks by the water just feel part of life.
Like I said it is one of those places you read about but only really understand once you step in for yourself. If you ever feel like having a look or just want the details reach out any time. At LuxuryProperty.com we are here to make moving feel a bit more personal and a lot less stressful.
