Some homes just have a calm about them and honestly this two bedroom apartment at Fairmont Residences La Marina in Rabat is one of those places that almost feels like a quiet breath as soon as you walk through the doors. Walking in myself I nearly stopped to look around the lobby for a while before heading upstairs. The grand entrance actually sets the tone and you cannot help but notice all those Moroccan touches from the bold colours to the light fixtures overhead and the tall ceilings that make it all feel a bit more special.
Up in the apartment itself the first thing you notice is how light just spills everywhere. Those windows go almost top to bottom and I stood by one for a few minutes just watching the river outside. Marina life has its own rhythm and sometimes you'll see fishing boats or just someone sitting by the water and reading. The triple water view really is something you do not get every day. You get the marina on one side then the Bouregreg river all calm and peaceful and finally a hint of the Atlantic in the distance. Sunsets here look honestly amazing and you feel a bit like you are somewhere between the city and the sea.
The living area is set out in a way that lets you do a bit of everything. Open plan but not so open that it feels like one giant empty box. You can actually see yourself having friends over or just lying back on the sofa with the balcony doors open. There are these mosaic floor tiles and a mix of colours that feel stylish but not too much and the lighting is warm which is nice if you like to stay up and read after dinner. The kitchen is one of those spaces you might actually cook real meals in. Marble countertops that look nice but are also practical and the plywood cabinets have a soft close that feels kind of fancy. For me the best thing is the kitchen island. Some folks use it for breakfast some for homework it sort of becomes whatever you need it to be. The appliances are all there and up to date so you do not need to worry about anything being missing on move in day.
Step out to the balcony for a minute. That is what I did. Space for a couple of lounge chairs definitely a small table if you want to sip coffee or just scroll your phone and watch the view but really sometimes you might just find yourself sitting still. There is something about being up high with water all around that is hard to put into words.
Moving to the bedrooms each one carries that blend of old and new Morocco. The main bedroom has a real sense of space and comfort with colours that are soft but with a few richer accents and lighting that just pulls it all together. There is a walk in closet that is bigger than most I have seen and in the bathroom you get a stand alone tub for those longer nights plus a walk in shower if you are running late on a weekday morning. The second bedroom is not much smaller still with good storage and a window view that gets a bit of the city and the river.
Bathrooms feel like part of a boutique hotel. Marble everywhere gold touches here and there. Even the powder room feels like a little escape from the busy day.
Living here brings you access to the Fairmont Club which is one of those by invitation things. I have seen a few of the perks and it feels quite exclusive without being showy. You also get a traditional Moroccan spa downstairs two gymnasiums a rooftop pool and there is a sky bar with a view that is especially good at sunset. Around the building there are coffee spots restaurants and shops so you do not have to go far for what you need. Kids have their own play area so evenings are usually filled with a bit of laughter from that direction. The promenade by the river is perfect for morning walks or just to watch the city change through the seasons.
I have to say it is not often you find a serviced residence in Rabat that feels both truly private and yet connected to so much around you. This is the sort of apartment that works whether you are after a main home or just want a retreat by the water. The only way though to know if it fits for you is to come and see it. If you want a closer look or just have questions about everyday living here feel free to reach out any time. At LuxuryProperty.com the main goal is to make every move feel a little bit easier.
