Uber Cool Loft Style 2 Bed Apartment At The Pad, Business Bay

Some homes feel almost like they are showing off a bit, without even trying. That is the feeling I got when I walked into this really cool two bedroom loft apartment at The Pad in Business Bay. You get the sense right away that this place is different. Maybe it is the angle of the building itself, kind of leaning over the Dubai Water Canal, almost like it is watching its own reflection. The sun pours in through these huge windows and for a minute or two I just stood there and looked out at the water and the city blinking beyond. You can actually see the Burj Khalifa from the pool deck which is honestly one of my favourite little surprises here. There is something about watching the sunset behind Dubai's most famous tower while you just hang out by the pool that makes you want to slow down for a while.

The apartment itself is on two levels and feels a lot like something you might see in Miami or on the cover of a modern design magazine but you do not have to be a design expert to enjoy it. It is bright and white inside but then you get these bold pops of colour that just wake up your mood. You will spot little touches that make it lively but never overcomplicated. The living area is sort of open but it bends in a way that gives you two chilling spaces plus a dining area where you can actually imagine having real dinners with friends. The kitchen does not feel like an afterthought either. It is made for someone who might actually want to cook from time to time not just stash takeout in the fridge. Just off to the side there is a maid's room which is en suite so it is private and not tacked on.

Upstairs is where both bedrooms are and both have their own en suite bathrooms. What I like is how private it all feels even with those windows stretching up both floors. It never feels exposed just sort of open and light with the canal right beyond. In the mornings it is quiet. You might just hear birds out by the water as you make coffee. This is the kind of place where you forget to check your phone because you are too busy looking out or planning your next run along the canal walkway.

The Pad itself is nothing like most buildings in Business Bay. Before you even get in the lift there are life-sized flamingos right there in the lobby. It just sets the mood for something fun and slightly unexpected. Residents here get to use a gym with all the usual equipment plus a really pretty pool area outside that overlooks pretty much everything you would want to see in Dubai. Down below there are a few shops and dining spots so getting a snack or a morning coffee is just downstairs. It is actually a bit of a treat to be close to the canal jogging track and you get used to seeing people out for a run or just taking it easy along the water in the evenings.

You are right in the heart of Business Bay which means you are never far from Downtown Dubai the Dubai Mall or DIFC if that is your thing. And yet in this apartment it almost could be a little hideaway if you need a break from the city rush. That is why so many people look for properties for sale in The Pad. It is everything people mean when they talk about modern canal side living but it never feels cold.
