Some places just surprise you when you walk in. Ashjar at Al Barari is one of those. You come through the gates and it is actually quiet. You hear birds. You notice how the trees kind of hide each pathway so you feel like you are off on your own for a bit. This apartment in Ashjar is right in the heart of Al Barari which is probably Dubai's greenest spot. People talk about the landscaping here for a reason. It's not just grass but actual trees and walkways that twist around like a little forest. You do hear water nearby sometimes, like if you stand out on the balcony early in the morning or even at night after dinner. The lake is just down along the southern edge and sometimes you can see the reflection of other buildings across the water.
The thing about Ashjar is you do not feel you are in the middle of a desert city at all. The buildings are low, honestly nothing goes more than a few stories so you never feel like you are closed in. I walked around and kept noticing how the sunlight filters through the huge glass walls. The layouts in these apartments do not try to box you in either. You get this open feeling where the living space just runs straight out toward the views. It actually makes it feel bigger than you expect. The kitchen is a real working kitchen, not just somewhere to heat up takeaway. You see families actually cooking here with doors open to the living room so it is pretty easy to have everyone in one space. Sometimes you catch the scent of fresh bread from The Farm restaurant drifting through if you are near the windows. That's just a nice touch. The finishes are that kind of clean white with straight lines, just like everything in Al Barari, and you kind of take it in without thinking too much about it. It feels fresh and calm but never showy.
The best thing here is the quiet. Cars are all underground so you walk everywhere. You hear footsteps, not engines. That is weirdly rare in Dubai. Kids actually run along the path and ride their bikes or scooters. Some evenings you see people just sitting out with coffee and a book. Body Language health club is down the road and honestly it is not intimidating like some gyms. Heart and Soul spa is also not far if you feel like having an afternoon off. The restaurants are around but nothing feels crowded or loud. Some people do yoga right near the lake most mornings if you are an early riser.
If you need to get out to the city, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road is close enough, just a quick drive and you can be in Downtown Dubai or at Dubai Marina without spending forever in traffic. At the same time you are always coming home to something peaceful. The sunsets feel different here. You get that soft gold light through the trees and you almost forget your phone for a minute which is kind of rare these days. The community is safe and private and you mostly see locals or other residents out and about. You get to know faces after a while, even if you don't always stop for a chat.
Some apartments feel like they are just four walls. Not this one. Ashjar feels a little more alive, almost like you could slow down and take a breath. No crazy towers. No chaos. Just a real sense of greenery and light coming in everywhere.
Honestly the only way to know if this feels right for you is to walk through in person. If you want a real look or have any questions at all, just give a shout any time. At LuxuryProperty.com we just want your move to feel comfortable and easy from the very start.
