There are a few apartments that put you at ease from the minute you walk in. This modern one bedroom at Ocean Heights in Dubai Marina is one of those. Honestly I ended up just leaning on the balcony door for a bit before I even started looking around properly. It just felt bright and steady. Maybe it is the way the light pools in from those big floor to ceiling windows in every room or maybe it is the angle that lets you catch a bit of the Palm and a little slice of sea from almost anywhere you stand. You hear Marina sounds but not the chaos.
The open plan layout really works here. I know lots of places say they have an open plan but here it is actually practical. The kitchen is off to one side but not boxed in. It is got all the fittings you would expect from something contemporary but not in a way that makes you not want to cook. It is easy to imagine tossing together breakfast or having friends over and still being part of everything going on in the living and dining space. And because everything flows into everything else you never feel boxed in. I sat on the floor for a second just to see what it would be like if this was home. Felt good actually.
The bedroom feels just right. Not cramped at all and there is plenty of built in storage tucked away so you do not have to see it all the time. If you open the curtains early the sun sneaks across the bed which is probably the best way to wake up I think. Plus, you can step straight out onto the balcony from the bedroom too, so mornings could easily start on the balcony with a coffee looking out at the Palm. Or maybe you are more the sunset type. Either way, it feels private. That is something. You can also get to the balcony from the living room which means you do not have to walk through your bedroom with guests if you do not want to.
Every room lets in loads of natural light. You do not really even have to turn on any lights till evening which I like. Sometimes you almost forget your phone just watching the sky change from the windows. The property is unfurnished so you get to actually make it yours from scratch. Sometimes the best way to feel at home is to bring your own sofa not just live with someone else's old style.
The apartment is chiller free too which honestly means one less headache when you are thinking about payments. You also get your own covered parking space right downstairs so no hunting for spots after a long day. Seriously, that makes such a difference in Dubai Marina.
Now about the building itself. Ocean Heights is sort of known for being really well run. Maintenance is actually done on time here. People say it is one of the better towers in the area for a reason. The facilities are solid. The gym is pretty massive and never stuffy or overcrowded. There is a good swimming pool with actual room to swim plus a proper sauna and steam room if you are into that. So you do not really need to get a separate gym membership unless you really want something more boutique. It all feels easy.
And location does count here. You are right at the start of the Marina which means you skip the worst of that busy traffic but are still close to everything. Sheikh Zayed Road is only a quick zip away. Across the street is Barasti bar which, if you have guests in town, is one of those must see places everyone asks about. Media City is around the corner as well so if you work there, home is like two minutes away. Also you do spot a lot of joggers here in the evenings or people heading off for coffee. It is a pretty social community if you want that.
Look, some places are just easy to live in and this apartment is one of them. But you would only know if you come by and see it in person. If it sounds like it might be right for you, just let me know. Happy to walk through and answer any questions at all. At LuxuryProperty dot com, we want your move to feel relaxed, not rushed.
