Some places in Downtown Dubai just have that kind of energy where you notice the pace around you change for a bit. This one bedroom apartment in South Ridge Tower 6 does that to me. You walk in and before you even start thinking where your stuff will go you end up heading to the balcony just to check out the canal view. There is always something happening down there. You can see the city at a quieter angle and honestly that feels pretty rare in Downtown.
It is a big place if you are comparing it to most one beds around here. You get one thousand sixty square feet to arrange things your way. Nothing feels tight or boxed in. The windows are almost full wall height so even early mornings are bright here. Sometimes in the afternoon light you just want to sit by the window for a while and watch the city moving outside. The balcony has enough space to actually live on it not just stand for a couple minutes. People do set up little tables and get a coffee out there. You will probably find yourself doing that too.
The kitchen surprised me. Normally these look good but do not always feel like you will actually want to make a meal there. This one is genuinely fitted with everything you need plus it has some counter space so it is not just for heating last night's leftovers. Built-in wardrobes in the bedroom means you do not need to start thinking about furniture shopping right away unless you want to. The floor just sort of flows between spaces and the layout leaves enough little corners so both of you can find alone time if you need it.
Parking is underground so the summer heat is not so much of a problem. There is AC and the best thing is chiller is free here which you will appreciate once July comes round. Emaar developed this place so the maintenance is properly done and people look out for the building. If you want amenities it is almost easier to list what isn't here. There is a pool where you see folks who are actually swimming not just Instagramming. The changing rooms have enough space so you are not bumping elbows and the showers outside are actually used after a lap or two. There is a fitness centre that does not feel cramped so nobody is waiting around for equipment.
If you like games there is a billiards and games room plus a mini theatre when you do not want to deal with mall crowds. Squash court is there too and people actually use it. There is a library and business lounge but honestly they are quiet so they work even if you just want to be on your laptop for a while. Kids sometimes gather around the private garden courts in the evenings. Out front there is a little day care which is a relief if you are new to the city and settling in. BBQ areas get some use on Fridays and you will recognize the regulars quickly.
In terms of getting around you are spoiled for choices. Bus stops are always within sight and the metro is a comfortable walk away so you can leave the car pretty often. Some people even say they forget what traffic feels like. Security is tight but not in your face. Lots of systems keep it all running from fire alarms to generators and the CCTV is just always there.
The Burj Khalifa is just around the corner and you can walk to Dubai Mall in not much time. That means everything from a quick coffee fix to dinner out with friends is never more than a stroll or a short cab away. On weekends you see a mix of families and young professionals. If you hang around long enough you notice more and more familiar faces.
I could go on but really the only way to tell if this apartment in South Ridge Tower 6 feels right for your life is to come have a look. Reach out when you want to walk through or if any questions pop up. At LuxuryProperty dot com we just want your next move in Downtown Dubai to feel as relaxed as possible.
