Some homes just have a certain hush to them. You know what I mean. You walk in and suddenly your own footsteps get quiet like the house wants you to slow down and breathe a little. That is exactly the feeling I had when I stepped into this six bedroom villa at 91 Crois Summit in Westmount. The first thing I noticed is the way light pours in from these tall windows you just cannot ignore. It fills every corner and makes the place feel extra wide and still somehow cozy at the same time. I caught myself actually pausing in the doorway for a minute just to look around and let it sink in.
Six bedrooms really is a treat in Montreal and especially in Westmount. There is space here for everyone. Big family, steady stream of guests, maybe a little studio or office if you want one. Every bedroom has its own quiet peaceful energy. What really got me was the way morning light sneaks gently into the bedrooms. It is not the kind that wakes you up too quick but the kind that feels like a gentle nudge. The master suite is set upstairs on the third floor and you really do get the feeling of getting away with your own private terrace up there. Nothing like waking up and just stepping right outside into the fresh breeze. There is another terrace near the upstairs family room, too, if you want to sit for a bit with coffee or just read while everyone else is busy. I actually sat there for a few minutes and realized how quiet it is, even with the city so close.
The layout is something you will probably notice right away. Sometimes homes with a lot of rooms end up feeling closed off or chopped up but here everything flows, nothing feels far. You always end up near a sunny spot or an open view. It just feels easy to live in. White walls and smooth lines give it this very now vibe but it is never cold or formal. The wood floors add a soft glow underfoot and you notice it everywhere you walk. There are four full bathrooms and two extra powder rooms which comes in handy when everyone is getting ready in the mornings or you have a bunch of people over. And all the bathrooms are spotless and comfortable, which really matters when you have a crowd at home.
The kitchen is probably my favorite spot. So many show homes have kitchens that look great but you never really want to cook there, you know what I mean. Here everything feels set up for real life, not just for a photo. The Miele appliances are all built in smooth and neat. You really do have enough space for everyday cooking or even those full family dinners that last for hours. The Calacatta countertops are beautiful, you can see the quality right away, and you do not have to be precious with them. The wooden cabinets just make it feel like home. I found myself standing by the window for a bit, looking at the green outside, and actually thought about what it would be like to cook without being in a rush.
You get a bigger plot than usual for Westmount which you really feel if you step out on either terrace or walk around the lot. There are old trees around and the whole street has this peaceful, settled vibe. Sometimes in the evenings you see kids biking past or people out walking their dogs. You are never far from a small park or a friendly coffee shop. The owner of the little grocery might learn your name if you pop by enough. You almost forget you are so close to downtown Montreal, but you are. That makes dinner plans or a quick trip into the city simple.
Privacy is good here. The villa is tucked away just enough that you do not hear traffic but still close to schools, good shops, and all those local spots that make Montreal special. And honestly, some evenings you will probably just find yourself sitting near a window watching the light change.
