I have even seen folks out with prams or running on the street in front. Seems safe and neighborly most days.

This bit of Downtown Dubai sort of connects you with everything. Coffee shops all around even a bakery that opens early. You can walk almost anywhere. Dubai Mall is just down the street so cinema or a last minute shop for something smart doesn't need planning. The Opera seems always within view and you sometimes hear the applause from performances when the wind is right.
