Some homes just have a way of making you slow down as soon as you step inside. This modern five bedroom villa in La Alqueria honestly gave me that feeling. One of those days where the light comes in just right and you catch yourself standing by the window just taking in the whole view. Out here in Benahavis you get the mountains rolling in the background and the golf course stretching out below plus a lake that always catches the sun at the end of the day and you even catch a hint of the Mediterranean in the right spot. Everything feels very calm and there are these pockets of quiet that are hard to find along the Costa del Sol.

The villa itself stands on a pretty generous plot so you do not feel closed in at all. That first walk through the door you notice how open everything is. Big windows just flood the place with natural light and on some mornings it honestly feels like you are already living outside. I know sometimes large spaces can feel a bit echo-y or cold but not here. The design is modern for sure but it has these real soft touches that actually make you want to kick off your shoes and just hang out. There is also home automation which frankly just means you never have to get up to turn off a light if you are wrapped up on the sofa.

Step outside to the terrace and you will probably find yourself out there more than you think. Those views honestly do not get boring and I can imagine summer evenings here with a barbecue going just eating outside as the sun drops behind the mountains. The garden is landscaped in a way that makes it feel mature but not too fussy. It is private in a very real way.

One of my favorite touches is the indoor heated pool and spa set up. You can do laps even when the weather is not playing along and then wander over to the sauna or Turkish bath. There is a jacuzzi as well which sort of feels like the finishing touch when you want to wind down after a long day. The whole villa has underfloor heating too so you do not get cold feet even in winter which is actually something you will use more than you might expect.

Security is proper here. The community has a feeling of being tucked away but you are not out in the middle of nowhere. You are close to good schools and all the spots you might need for day to day stuff. The golf scene around La Alqueria is honestly top notch and you are never too far from everything happening in Marbella or Puerto Banus so weekends are always easy to plan.
