Beautiful Villa Near Marrakech

Some homes just feel like a long slow exhale as soon as you show up. You drive out from the centre of Marrakech and everything starts to get quieter. On the drive up, you notice the old olive trees and those tall palm trees waving in the breeze. This place sits on its own private piece of land, really generous at two hectares, so neighbours are there but never too close. It actually feels a bit like a hidden retreat and yet not cut off at all. You look across the landscape and see nothing but gardens, wispy palms, and that long gleaming swimming pool stretching out behind the villa. When I first visited I just stood by the edge of the pool for a while and watched the light play on the water. There is space here for everyone even when a whole family plus friends come to stay for a long visit.

Inside you get this blend of classic Moroccan touches and a more modern comfortable feel. Living rooms here are not just display rooms. There is a real sense that you could spend actual time in each one. In winter, you almost want to curl up by the fireplace in the living room as the evenings turn a little cool. The summer living room is all about wide open doors and that sweet breeze. You wander from one room to the next and every one just seems made for gathering people together. I found myself halfway to the outdoor kitchen before I even realised somehow already picturing a barbecue with friends in the evening. The outdoor dining area is right near the main kitchen and you just know meals outside will become a favourite routine.

The games area is such a nice touch. There is a ping pong table tucked to the side and you sometimes hear the soft ping of a ball while people talk nearby under the Berber tent. You get a real community vibe here on weekends or holidays. Kids often end up over at the pétanque ground or the paddle court getting in a friendly match before lunch. Even grown ups join sometimes. In the evenings there are spots where everyone just winds down and you forget to check your phone. I have seen more than one group gathered around the outdoor bar as dusk falls and nobody is in a rush.

Bedrooms are another story. With nine in total there is always a quiet place to retreat. The main house has a couple of suites on the ground floor overlooking the gardens. Sometimes you wake up and watch the sunrise from bed and the only sound is the birds outside. There are two more suites upstairs with terraces. One has this little belvedere terrace where you just want to linger over that first morning coffee. There is also a separate guest house with two rooms right by the pool. Friends and family can be close by but have their own space when they want it.

You will also notice the real working kitchen as well as the presentation kitchen. If you love cooking together or just sitting while someone else does, this space makes it easy. There is even a wine bar for the evenings when everyone relaxes after a day in the sun. If you are into fitness the gym is the real deal with everything you need plus a spa for the slower days. I lingered in the private cinema for a bit and honestly it felt like an unexpected bit of luxury after dinner.

There is also separate accommodation for staff which keeps everything running smoothly. Four bedrooms plus their own living and kitchen area means added privacy for everyone.

Living here is a bit like living in a private resort but it is also a real home. You get used to the long views and the sound of water and the smell of olive trees. Every day feels a bit like a gentle holiday but with enough space and comfort for the everyday stuff too. The coffee shop is not far and the city is always just a short trip when you want some bustle again.
