Sometimes you walk into a place and it just feels like you have stepped into something special. That is exactly what happened to me the other day at this three bedroom penthouse in High Society. This tower is right in Belconnen, Canberra ACT. It is actually the tallest building in Canberra, which is already a bit of a conversation starter if I am honest. Not that you need extra with a place like this. You just pause for a second when you first open the door because the city is right out in front of you. And it is all thanks to these huge windows. Sitting in the living area, I just let myself take in the whole skyline. There is morning light pouring in, you can see all the way to Black Mountain and on a clear afternoon you get this soft golden wash over everything. Some days it makes you want to forget about your phone, just sit down for a bit and watch how the light changes.
What actually surprised me was how you get all this style without it feeling like you are walking through a showroom. It does not try too hard. The interiors feel relaxed, but also polished if that makes sense. There are four floor plans in the whole penthouse collection and each one is different, so the one you are looking at now is properly unique. The open plan layout gives you this easy flow from kitchen to dining to the lounge, even out onto the terrace. It is the kind of home where you can imagine friends just dropping in and nothing feels awkward or cramped. The kitchen is genuinely set up for real cooking too, not just impressing people. You could actually see yourself baking or trying out a new recipe here, especially with the view looking back at you.
Bedroom wise, the setup is smart. There is a guest bedroom that sits away from the main part of the home so visitors can have their own little space. The main bedroom has this walk in wardrobe that actually fits more than just two suitcases and a few shirts. I noticed the bathrooms too. They are bright, and you have enough space for real life stuff like towels and all those extra bottles people collect. That feels rare sometimes.
The terrace is honestly my secret favourite. It is not just a balcony stuck on for show. You step out and remember just how high up you are. At sunset you get these sweeping pinks and purples across the city. Maybe you drink your coffee out there in the morning. Maybe you end up eating dinner outside with some friends. It just feels like a part of the house you would actually use.
High Society is pretty packed with things that you do not always get. I had a look around the deck area and it is beautiful, with a heated pool that you can use year round. There is also a proper chef's kitchen where you could book in for private dinners or small events, so you do not always have to host at home if you do not want to. For anyone with kids there is a playroom indoors which is perfect for Canberra winters or hanging out after school. Wine lovers get a cellar put together by someone who actually knows about wine, which you do not see every day. The wellness centre, with its spa and gym and yoga studio, honestly makes it simple to just take some time for yourself. And the sauna, well, that will become your favourite after a long week. The neat thing is how close you are to all the best bits of Canberra. Belconnen is lively but you can escape to Lake Ginninderra or wander through the shops or stop for coffee just a short walk away. On weekends you see families cycling and there is always something happening.
If this penthouse in High Society sounds like your kind of place, I would just say come see it in person. It is the kind of home that feels different once you are actually inside. If you want to talk or have a look around, I am always here. At LuxuryProperty.com, we hope your move feels simple and comfortable right from the start.
