Sometimes you really do sense the history and calm right when you walk in. This is one of those places. Tucked away in Port d'Andratx in Mallorca, this old style hacienda has a mood that just makes you want to kick off your shoes and breathe for a second. You step through the main door and there is this big open entrance with the light bouncing off stone walls. I honestly had to stop and just let my eyes wander up the stairway. Six bedrooms here, and yes it is actually spacious, not just on paper. The sea is always in sight or close enough that you will hear it some mornings if you leave the windows open.
The home is stretched out low along the land which means every room picks up a little light or a breeze. The stonework has that chunky, honest feel and the tile roof just fits the scene. But it is not all stuck in the past. That big reception hall leads into a living room that does not feel like something you only use when guests are around. There is an open fireplace and I could imagine a rainy afternoon right there with coffee and a book. The kitchen looks like a real kitchen too, not just a showpiece. The counters feel worn in, you see where people actually cooked. The dining room is tucked nearby so you never feel cut off. And from almost anywhere, you get slices of those ocean views that people dream about.
Downstairs, you find two more bedrooms, two bathrooms, and another cozy space that could be a snug or a playroom or maybe just somewhere for leftovers after a long chatty dinner. Then you just wander out onto the terrace and sometimes you almost forget your phone because that view just catches you. The terrace is partly covered so you get sun or shade when you want. There is an infinity pool that seems to spill right over into the sea. I actually lingered there one morning and watched a fishing boat drift past.
Head upstairs and it is honestly that much better. The master bedroom is one of those rooms you really have to step into to feel it. It has its own private terrace tucked around the corner. You wake up and the sea is the first thing you see. There is a big dressing room, a roomy bathroom, and two more bedrooms just along the hall. You will notice a proper laundry room here too so you are not running up and down with towels after a swim. When you step out onto the wraparound terrace up here, the views open out wide. You have Port d'Andratx and the whole open sea spread in front, and you can catch the pink sunsets some evenings.
Another neat thing about this place is the lower level. Even there, you are not shut away from the ocean. There is a full guest apartment down here so friends or family can visit without being underfoot. There is a gym that actually has enough space to move around. Wine cellar as well. Plus the basics like a bathroom and storage, all tucked away but handy.
The courtyard outside is proper Mediterranean. It is paved, with planters and seating, but it does not feel stiff. Just the right spot to sit with a glass of local wine. It really gets good sun most of the day, and being close to the harbour means you can walk down for fresh bread or a coffee. Sometimes in the evenings, I have seen neighbours pass by with kids on bikes or little dogs chasing after them.
If you are looking for a real slice of the Spanish coast that feels warm and grounded and easy to settle into, this villa is worth a look. The only way to know if it feels right is to come see it.
