Villa Wazn | Four Seasons Marrakech

Some homes make you slow down and kind of look around before you even realize you are doing it. That is what happened to me the first time inside Villa Wazn at the Four Seasons Marrakech Resort. Maybe it was the light coming in from the garden or maybe it was just the feeling of space. Either way you get a sense of calm as soon as you close the front door. There is something about the way this villa sits right in the heart of the Four Seasons resort that gives it that exclusive feeling you do not really get just anywhere in Marrakech.

Honestly this place is just big in all the right ways. I mean over eight thousand square feet of built up space and you feel it right away. The ceilings are high and every room sort of flows into the next without trying too hard. There are two main living rooms and both open onto the garden so you get all this natural sunlight pretty much all day. I spent a few minutes by the big window one morning just watching the light work its way through the trees outside. Sometimes you hear a bit of laughter from the pool or the birds early in the day but it never feels loud. That is the kind of peace you do not get everywhere in the city.

There are five full bedrooms here and they are not just places to sleep. Even the smaller ones feel relaxing like when you check in to a hotel and want to just stretch out for a bit. The main suite actually looks over the garden and you wake up with that view every morning. There are a couple of balconies too which I think work great if you like quiet mornings with coffee or just want to read outside for a minute. I could imagine leaving the doors open to let the air drift in from the gardens especially in the early evening when things cool down a bit in Marrakech.

The kitchen is a proper working kitchen not just a fancy showpiece. It is fully equipped and set up next to the dining area so food never has far to travel. One of those spaces where you can actually cook a real meal or even just hang around with friends while someone else does the cooking. You also get a maid's room tucked away which makes things a little bit easier if you are thinking longer stays or a family base in the city.

Of course the garden is where you end up spending most of your time. That was my experience anyway. With the pool right there and all this green stretching out around you it is easy to lose track of time. I saw a couple of kids splashing around and someone else just lying back in the sun with a book. In the evenings the garden lights up in a really inviting way. The resort itself has all those Four Seasons touches of service so you never have to worry about things like maintenance or security. You feel looked after just being here.

You are only a short drive from the centre of Marrakech but the resort has this trick of making it feel like everything slows down a little. There is a good coffee shop in the lobby and most mornings you will see people just sitting outside with their laptops or a pastry. Sometimes you get a golf cart passing with guests heading to the spa but honestly most of the time it is just quiet.

This is not your usual villa for sale in Marrakech. It has that rare mix of real comfort and a bit of prestige. And sometimes you almost forget your phone because it is just that relaxing.
