Villa Iron

The Iron Villa Project by Federico Cappellina & Partners Architects is an incredible design undertaking in Verona. This dwelling is born from the intersection of two main axes that in a geometric play of solids and voids challenges and surpasses the past in a contemporary setting. Rhythmic alternation of solids and voids, light and shadow, projections and recesses, lightens the masses through fast vanishing points and places them in constant dialogue with each other so that the inside and the outside become one. The artistic intervention is evident yet never overbearingly imposed. Motorized, flush-mounted, fingerprint-opening fixtures obliterate the boundary between indoor and outdoor, while modern, minimalist furniture designs and defines settings that from the outside are perceived as contemporary pictures of domestic life. The entrance, located at the intersection of compositional geometries, leads to the large open space that houses the living room on one side with a bar, and the kitchen with a bathroom and pantry on the other. Both locations overlook the garden and swimming pool and find further development in the relaxation area built outside. On the first floor and in a more secluded location are the sleeping areas: the master bedroom with private bathroom and walk-in closet, two other bedrooms with bathrooms and terraces overlooking the garden. Privacy throughout the building is ensured by practical motorized blinds and LED lights that create suggestive and scenic light effects. In the basement we find a large space for 6 cars and a spa with swimming pool, sauna and bathroom. Innovative photovoltaic and ventilation systems, together with thermal insulation and double-chamber glazing ensure year-round clean energy and constant air sanitization and purification. A comfortable living ambiance is guaranteed by the design protocol "Federico Cappellina & Partners Architects Technology Inside". Power is supplied via reneweable sources, primarily photovoltaic and geothermal - and there is a vast range of technological features including filters that employ NASA technology and air quality analysis control units, as well as water purification and home automation.
