Sometimes a place just quietly surprises you. That is the feeling I got at Villa Bianco Chic in Florence. I am not sure if it is the easy way the sunshine lands on the stone or the olive trees that seem to have been there forever, but you really sense something different as soon as you walk up. You find yourself slowing down here. People talk about the Tuscan countryside like it is peaceful but living it feels much more real once you see these rows of vineyards and stand in the middle of this garden. There is a hush in the air, even when you hear a neighbor's laughter or a tractor in the distance.
This villa is set inside its own world. Honestly the gardens are so tidy you wonder how no one has ever lost a football out there. About half a hectare, with lawns that feel soft underfoot and paths that just tempt you to wander around. There is this pool staring right out at the hills that just makes you want to float forever. Some evenings you will probably take your glass of Chianti out to the edge of the garden and watch the last bit of sunlight leave those olive trees. There are spots everywhere to just sit and breathe.
Inside, the main residence stretches across three floors. The first time I entered, I just paused by the entrance because it all opens up so gently. The double living room is bright and there are huge doors leading out to a quiet patio. It smells a little like fresh flowers from the garden outside. You get a dining room that actually feels private and still cheerful, with its own doors looking out. The kitchen surprised me. It is not just for show. The cabinetry is solid and I honestly could picture a family or a group of friends making dinner together, with someone chopping tomatoes next to the window.
You head upstairs on a handsome staircase, probably noticing that the handrail feels cool and old school. Up here, there is this extra sitting area that is almost like a quiet nook for reading or hiding away with your laptop. Four bedrooms, all with their own bathrooms, two have wardrobes so big you might lose that extra pair of shoes. The best part for me was standing outside on the terrace up here. You can see miles of rolling hills and all those vineyards. Sometimes you just need to lean on the railing and let your mind drift.
Downstairs in the basement, it is not the dark kind. There is space for a gym so you do not have to drive into town if you are into working out. There is also laundry and a proper Italian cantina which, if you have ever stored wine before, you know how practical that is. There is a room that feels like it would host long dinners on rainy nights, the sort where you tell stories or just share a quiet meal.
The guesthouse does not feel secondary at all. Three levels, which is rare for a guest space around here. You step in and it is light, a good sized kitchen, sitting area and two bedrooms all set to actually host people for real. There is even a winding staircase that takes you up to what is basically a sweet attic nook and another terrace. Sometimes these places are just for guests, but honestly you could see an artist or someone looking for a bit of peace living out here for months. The bottom floor here is just storage and wine again, nice for keeping your things tucked away.
You will also notice the pace around here is just unhurried. The café in the village is always within easy reach. Sometimes you can see workers out in the vineyard waving as you drive up. Some days you will probably find yourself picking lemons for dinner or just sitting near the pool, thinking about nothing. That is the charm of Villa Bianco Chic.
You can read about the countryside views or the big gardens but the truth is, you only know if it feels right for you after seeing it in person. If you want an honest walk through or you have any questions, I am always happy to help. At LuxuryProperty.com, we know picking your next home in Florence is about more than numbers.
