Some homes just have that sense of history you can almost feel in your bones. Villa Belvedere in the rolling hills above Florence is one of those places. I found myself slowing my steps on the gravel driveway surrounded by that deep green you only see in Tuscany. Between the fresh-cut grass smell and the old stone walls, honestly you get a bit of that wow feeling right from the start.

This villa has been here quietly since the thirteenth century, so it has seen everything from noble families to fireworks over the city. You'll notice the peace before anything else. It is close to Florence, but honestly you just hear birds, maybe the distant hum of someone tending their olives, not much else. The land itself stretches out over about seven hectares so when you look outside, it is just views and trees and the sort of garden space that makes you want to sit out with a book. Sometimes you catch glimpses of little lizards sunning themselves along the old walls.

Walking inside, you get that classic Tuscan feeling right away. Cotto floors—those slightly uneven terracotta tiles—run under your feet and suddenly the air feels a bit cooler. The first part of the villa has two big levels. There's a wide living area with this fireplace built in the 1400s that actually still feels right for a chilly night. It is not just for looking at, people have gathered here and you can sort of imagine the stories that have been told in this room. The kitchen feels like a real hub, not some modern showpiece. Honestly it is easy to see yourself cooking up pasta for a big table, windows cracked open to let the Tuscan air drift in. Down the hallway there are two bedrooms plus a couple of cozy bathrooms and all those helpful spots like laundry and pantry and a quiet service area where the everyday things just get done.

The stairs are worn in just the way you want old stairs to be. Up top you find a family space tucked under high ceilings and three more bedrooms—one is the main suite with its own wardrobe and bathroom and then two others that share a bathroom. You'll notice the views keep getting better the higher you go. Sometimes I just stop and look out of the window for a minute to catch my breath.

The second half of the villa has another rhythm to it. It is spread over three floors. Right away you walk into this wide double living area, honestly made me want to host an afternoon gathering with local wine and maybe a few neighbors. There's a big dining room that could handle a good crowd, even if it is just for homemade pizza nights. The kitchen here is country-style too—usable and warm, not just for show.

Heading up a stone staircase that feels satisfyingly solid, you step onto a landing filled with light. There's the master bedroom with its own private study attached, so if you need to work a bit or just like to write letters, it feels tucked away. Another bedroom sits just across the hall with a bathroom that is bigger than you'd expect. I even noticed a spot that is set up as a proper library or office. For staff or longer stays, there's a separate little apartment with its own en suite space.

Keep going and you find a few more bedrooms upstairs, a gentle sitting area, and then something a bit unexpected—a spiral staircase up to a little tower room. You look out over the Tuscan countryside from there and it's almost as if Florence itself is waving to you.

It is a big villa, ten bedrooms in total, and yet it does not feel fussy or pretentious. You can tell it is waiting for someone who wants to genuinely live here, maybe run between the olive trees or open up the big doors in summer. The garden is lush but not overdone. Sometimes you even hear kids laughing nearby, or spot a neighbor on a bicycle headed into town.

The price is about four point two million AED, which in this part of Florence, with views and land like this, is rare to find. The only real way to know if Villa Belvedere is right for you is to come see it. If you have questions or you want to wander around the gardens for yourself, just give me a call or drop me a message. At LuxuryProperty.com we think your next home should feel like it fits, not just impresses. Really hope you come by and experience it in person.
