Some homes just feel bigger than their rooms and ceilings. This three bedroom villa at Villa Pian di Sco does that right away. I found myself pausing under the trees before I even got to the front door just to take a good look at the hills and the sun across the olive groves. You're in the province of Arezzo here, close to Florence and all the cafés and bakeries of Greve in Chianti, but everything just runs quieter. You hear more birds, less traffic. There's a kind of peace about it, like the villa has been here waiting a while.
Villa Pian di Sco is a piece of history from 1684, but it does not feel like a museum. When you come up the drive you will notice old stone walls and those classic wooden shutters, but nothing is stuffy. In 2010 someone put a lot of careful thought into the restoration. They kept all the beautiful things people love about Tuscan villas. Think thick stone walls and a friendly, winding staircase made from old pietra serena stone. But it's bright inside. The light moves through the rooms in a way that just makes you want to put your phone down and stay for a bit.
The land is what first gets you. Almost two hectares give you plenty of space, with olive trees twisting in the breeze, fruit trees that are just waiting to be picked, and a few sun terraces that are honestly the best spot for coffee in the mornings. There's a gazebo and an outdoor fireplace where you might imagine slow afternoons turning into quiet evenings. If you love swimming, that pool sits in just the perfect place to catch the view of the valley. Sometimes you almost feel like you're in a painting.
When you step inside, the entrance hall spills into a living room with a proper fireplace. Not just for looks, you can picture yourself sitting here when the nights are cooler and there's a bit of woodsmoke in the air. The kitchen actually feels like you'd cook here. Plenty of space to chop herbs from the garden or put together a meal and there's a dining area that makes family dinners easy. Down here you also have two rooms that work as studies or bedrooms, or honestly whatever you need, plus a laundry area that makes life simpler.
Head up the staircase and you come to another big living area. Another fireplace up here too, so you keep that cozy feeling. The main bedroom is roomy, with its own en suite bathroom. Another bedroom upstairs also comes with en suite, and here's a little surprise, there's a modern steel staircase hidden away that goes up to the old tower. Everyone who visits wants to have a look. It is just one of those places where you stop at the window and watch the valley for a while. Sometimes you hear church bells in the distance, sometimes just the breeze.
If you need more space or a proper workroom, there's a basement as well. Good for extra storage or whatever your hobbies might be. You get both inside and outside access, which is handy for busy days or guests with muddy boots after a walk.
Even being so private, you're never far from local markets and small towns. Greve is known for its wine and there are always little festivals or markets happening. Sometimes you see families biking down the lanes or people just wandering with their shopping bags and fresh bread.
There's nothing rushed about Villa Pian di Sco. It can feel like a real home, every day or just for holidays. You get history, space, and all the feelings of living in Tuscany without the noise of the city. Maybe the best thing is how easy it is to settle in.
The only way to know if it feels right is to come see it. If you want to visit or have questions, or even just want to chat about life around here, reach out anytime. At LuxuryProperty.com, we want your next move to feel simple and natural.
