Community Guide: Green Community
It used to be that finding green spaces in Dubai was a tall order, but this is becoming easier as more nature-focused attractions spring up across the city. If you want to look no further than your window for lush green views, then consider one of Dubai’s original green communities located in DIP and Motor City. Each has a diverse selection of affordable luxury property options, with abundant lifestyle amenities on your doorstep. In this blog, we’ll take a closer look at what each community has to offer.
An Overview : Green Community In Dubai
1.Neighborhood | 2. Amenities |
1. Neighborhood
Divided into East and West, Green Community DIP is spread over 67 hectares of lush green spaces, with apartments, townhouses and villas to suit all tastes and budgets. The community was designed to “enrich lives” and is firmly family-focused with an excellent range of lifestyle amenities.
East community was the first phase in the development, a joint venture between Dubai Investments and Union Properties, and comprises 75 family villas for sale in Green Community, 10 ‘luxury villas’, 310 townhouses, 56 ‘terrace apartments’, 216 ‘garden apartments’ and 52 ‘lake apartments’. The villas are available in 3-5 bed options, each with Spanish themed architecture and featuring a signature red roof. They are all located within close proximity to the sports courts and community mall.
West community is sandwiched between Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and the Jebel Ali Road, meaning it has excellent transport links. The district rollouts was divided into multiple phases and is made up of predominantly apartments (from studio to 3 bed) with some villas options (available in 3 to 6 beds). Nevertheless, the sense of family is not lost in this side of the community, with buildings interspersed with prerequisite parks and green spaces.

2. Amenities
Both the East and West sides of the community share a plethora of amenities including retail and leisure facilities. “The Market” is a 136,000 sq ft community mall with over 100 shops including international brands, service outlets and restaurants / cafes including Neighborhood and Costa Coffee. There are multiple supermarkets and minimarts including Spinneys and Choithrams which stocks Tesco products (from the UK) and has a pork section for non-Muslims.
As these are family-centric communities, there are of course lots of good nurseries and schools to choose from. A few highlights include: Greenfield Community School, Dovecote Primary and Kinderville. The University of Balamand also has a campus here. There are plenty of clinics and hospitals too, including NMC Royal - run by the UAE’s largest healthcare provider with over 200 facilities.
Parks and play areas are plentiful, and well-placed around the community and its districts with water features and picnic spaces. If outdoor exercise isn’t for you, there is a Fitness First in the community, offering a range of membership options.

Green Community Motor City
1.Neighborhood | 2. Amenities | 3. Connectivity |
1. Neighborhood
A sub-district of Motor City, this Green Community was also developed by Union Properties and is located between Sports City and Arabian Ranches Dubai. The project was launched in 2005, and completed in 2010 with 127 villas and 159 townhouses. There are now also ‘lakeview’ apartments in various buildings. The community is comparatively small, but still has a health club with swimming pool, jogging tracks and parks with play areas. Other health and fitness facilities include Fitness First and Fit Republik (Sports City).

2. Amenities
Shopping is plentiful with Spinneys, Carrefour and Waitrose all on the doorstep, plus minimarts and The Ribbon Mall. If you’re on a budget, head for Viva - great quality food at even better prices! As well as retail options, The Ribbon Mall also has great dining outlets including Projeto Acai, Nando’s and Cedar Grill. For live sports, sharing platters and pool tables, head over to Sports City and visit Kickers or the Els Club. If you want something closer to home, then look no further than the Autodrome which hosts various events throughout the year including the Hankook 24 hour race (January).
Emirates British Nursery is in Motor City and has an excellent reputation, as is Building-Blocks Nursery. Other school options include Renaissance School just across the road in Sports City, and Gems Metropole. As you’d expect, there’s plenty of clinics in the area including Medcare. Despite its small size, the community really does have it all and retains a quaint feeling, whilst being close to several other bustling districts.

3. Connectivity
Within all of the Green Communities there is dedicated parking for both villas and apartments, and plenty of bus stops for those needing public transport links. A note of caution - the communities are not close to any metro stations (the nearest is approximately 20 minutes away) so do bear this in mind when considering it for your next home. Both the DIP and Motor City communities have excellent connections to main roads - Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed, Hessa and Al Khail so you can easily reach every part of the city. There are multiple "car lifts" that operate around the areas as well, and for a small fee you can secure a seat to and from work.
